NEVER USE SELLOLDPHONE.CO.UK I sent my iPhone 3G in perfectly mint condition to selloldphone.co.uk, they didn't contact me for weeks- despite chasing emails. After finally contacting me to say they did receive my phone they offered me far less than the original quote and then did not send my phone back when I refused the offer. Absolute criminals- I reported them to consumer direct and trading standards. I hope they are shut down soon. Do not use selloldphone.co.uk they will rip you off.... (read more)

Hi Thanks for this I placed the review before you. I finally got my money but not the amount they said. They said they would give me £121 for my iphone 3S bu they sent me £57 saying it had no charger and it didn't work. I did take photos of the phone before I sent it so hopefullythis will help me. I was in the same situation as you and continued to email them every few days using their contact form on the website and I finally received my cheque over the weekend. It was not for the full value but I am not going to both chasing a few quid. I have been waiting 6 weeks for my cheque. Keep contacting them every few days and they will eventually pay up. Good Luck!

Same story here really, sent the phone off 3 weeks ago. Very prompt emails and what looked like a decent service. Since then, nothing, my account shows as 'Payment Sent' and they are not answering mails or calls. Can't believe the amount of negative reviews and comments yet they still trade ? This place has been reported many times in the past year to trading standards in the North East so why aren't they doing more ? I just hope I end up with something (promised £138 for my iPhone) as... After numerous emails describeing the outside of the shop, the shops opposite the road etc...i told them would'nt be hard tofindI then did the same on the directors house nice well thing in the garden sort of thing and what would the neighbours say if we came and made afuss outside. I basically gave them loads and wrote a formal letter too. I recievedmy cheque in the post today and baked it today. wont hold me breath till it clears though they gave me the full amount for the new phones and deducted a little of the other two, but was accepted by me( I basically was thankful I got an acknowledgement that I actually sent my items) but I tellyou I bombarded them with emails, trading standards, small claims court and pysically going there and making a great big scene at one point they asked me for my order numberto whichI told them I would stamp it onhis foreheadif Iever went up.( im a middleaged grandma who needed this money for my granddaughter so im passionate and will not let up till I get paid what was promised).

Sent a perfectly good working phone. They tried to claim it was faulty. Being a sceptic I'd taken photos of it's condition and showing it fully working. They backed down, but not after claiming they would pay as a gesture of goodwill, how noble of them. There are many reputable companies out there recycling old mobiles but this isn't one of them. I've just received a cheque from them (after a threat to report them to Trading Standards) and what a surprise, its less than was originally offered.
I send a Blackberry 9700 which they offeres £153 for, yet I got £120. To ensure it was not damaged in the post, it was placed in the leather holster first, then bubble wrapped very securely. I probably could have stamped on it and it wouldnt have been damaged. There were no chips or scratches.

I will also do the same. I have contacted the Trading Standards and have collected all the websites I can find that review this Company. I have also been in touch with Watchdog and will contact the Sunday Sun newspaper who has a section who deals with this type of issue in the North East of England. I'm not letting this go and the phone was 5 weeks old, almost knew and they downgraded it from £84.00 to £15.00

This company is an absolute disgrace. Anybody out there, just DO NOT USE. total rip off merchants. They recieved my phones on the 15th of Feb. Did not hear from them after continuously e-mailing until I threatend them with trading standards, watchdog and which? magazine on Saturday 4th March. Recieved cheque today, 9th March, but had an amazing £40.00 knocked off. Phones where working absolutely fine. No problems there.

This company is a joke! I bet nobody has ever used these twice, at least i hope not! They said they would give £80 for my phone. I got an email saying they recieved it. Then nothing for ages! I sent email after email but no response. I found a number on a website, tried ringing them and got nothing. So i sent another email mentioning the trading standards and suprise suprise, i get a cheque a 3 days later! The cheque was £10 short, because apparently there was no charger with it! They never... DO NOT USE THIS TERRIBLE RIP OFF COMPANY, I was promised nearly 300.00 for 2 perfect phones, cheque arrived 2 weeks later for 193.00 stating that the phones had been downgraded on inspection, and no chargers, what a load of rubbish, asked for the phones back and got told there would be a 20 pound admin fee, asked for someone to ring me and no-one did, e-mailed, got no response, so i ended up having to cash the cheque in case i ended up with nothing at all, i'm absolutely disgusted and angry... If you are reading these reviews before dealing with them, then DON 'T SEND THEM ANYTHING. If I could give them a 0 rating I would. I wish I'd found this review site before I sent off my Nokia that they promised £75 for. Instead I received £46 due to condition & sending no charger. This phone was in great condition & I was never asked for a charger. (No other site asks for a charger). Pure rip off & I'll be reporting them to Trading Standards. PLEASE DO NOT TRADE WITH THEM!!!
I sent my 2 phone in good working condition and the very next day the status was set as payment sent and its been 3 weeks now i haven;t recieved anything. Sent 2 emails to them, but no response at all. There is no phone no. on the site to contact them. Only thing I can think of is to go legal with this company now.
My sincere advise, keep away with this site.
