The surveyor did his job competently, gave us a copy of his detailed drawings and discussed them with us. The fitter arrived on time and completed installation without interruption. After installation I visited Spacemaker in Basildon and asked for some small additional pieces which were not on the drawing (extra hanging rail and drawer handle) and these with given to me. Initially service was great however the full installation wasn't completed and there was NO aftercare service what-so ever having originally complained about the non completion of work. Now a week after 3/4 completion we are still awaiting a call from the aftercare service team to come and fit the remaining panel. Great wardrobes and initial service but wouldn't recommend to friends or family because the aftercare service doesn't even exist even though i've complained and the job's incomplete. (read more)

We ordered two sets of bedroom furniture one of which need to be slightly unusual due to the shape of the room but all aspects of the project were stress free. The designer spent time listening to what we wanted and explaining his ideas,surveyor helped with the technical bits and the fitters worked cleanly and courteously. Although we still need to decorate the room, the wardrobes have already made the room feel more contemporary and its a pleasure to be in it. Having had enough of IKEA furniture - had served its time - we went for a fitted bedroom. We requested a brochure from Spacemaker's website and a week later the designer called. Within an hour or so we had a design all drawn out and priced. A few days later the surveyor called and we booked the installation date there and then. U had appointment with designer today to quote 2 waredrobes. I told him what size and style I am expecting to have and he said that is not good idea and he will choose standard deep and size of the shelfs. If I wanted to have standard size waredrobe I will not choose spacemaker but I will buy that in a shop. We advise our customers as best we can in these situations and If there are clothes hanging in a 37cm space , this is insufficient space unless you turn the rail back to front which we advise against as it gives poor access. We also respect all of our customers from all ages and nationalities and our designer would only have had your best interests at heart when you were advised to return to the store where you found an adequate solutuion at an affordable price. There is nothing wrong with Ikea!

Not a good experience! When you pay top dollar you expect a top service. The salesman became rude when we said we wanted to have a think about the quote and said it cost him £200 everytime he had to make a home visit and he didn't have time to come back. He reminded me of the way that Double Glazing is sold. We were extremely dissapointed to recieve such a critical review as we take such pride in the way in which our designers conduct themselves who are, in fact, regularly monitored ensuring they provide a polite, efficient and informative friendly service. We have refunded the cost of your shelf and replaced the defective door as soon as we possibly could. We do however advise all of our customers to decorate after the furniture has been fitted as on occassion it is regretably unavoidable that there will be some casualties on freshly painted surfaces when you are turning full sized panels and cutting a perfect fit to your existing walls, floors and ceilings. We do however apologise for this and the delay you experienced replacing your door and have sent you £50 M&S Vouchers as a token of our good will and hope that dispite your comments you enjoy many years with your Spacemaker fitted furniture.

The price quoted was close to what we had expected or even a little less than we had expected. The process moved swiftly and smoothly.
