I really liked this movie and it was a great follow up to the first in the saga. I read the book before watching this movie and I felt that the director did a fabulous job at keep the movie true to the original story. This movie was much faster paced and more action packed than the first movie. I really liked the graphics and everything flowed really well and looked real. I would certainly recommend this movie to a friend that is a fan of twilight. (read more)

I absolutely love this film, it's so epic. I read all the books, so I knew the story, but this is just perfect Friday night, leave your brain at the door kind of film. It's a bit of fun, no one is meant to take it too seriously! Bella and Edward are great characters and I loved it. (read more)

New Moon was funny in the wrong way. Maybe it was the mood we were in but we were laughing in places when no one else was. I suppose this type of film appeals to a very specific audience, not me. I would recommend to some people I know. (read more)

Twilight New Moon is really among the best movie I've ever seen. I should not like it considering the fact that it talks about the two lovers split and the girl starts loving someone else but I was surprised that it was not so bad at all. First, thanks to Stephenie Meyer having written the sagas. She really got inspiration. Nobody has ever thought that vampire can have feelings too, that they have that human part still alive in them, that they care about the others. Thanks to her having... (read more)

Having watched the first movie in the series my other half wanted us to watch the 2nd. I thought the first one was OK (a kind of TV movie really...) so thought we'd give it a go.
It wasn't great.
It seemed to be like a TV series that they'd produced and then thought "oh, maybe we should release it as a movie?" - it wasn't very punchy, the storyline was pretty flat and for most of the time nothing really happened of any note.
I wasn't running out screaming, "No no dont make me watch...

This film was a terrible experience, the actors failed to engage and were painfully awkward.
The narrative was slow and failed to gather any momentum which made the movie drag.
Some good special effects but that could not save a film that relied on the popularity of its stars to bolster an otherwise ill concieved adaptation of the popuolar book.

Possibly the worst film I have ever seen. I have not read the book but have seen the first film (which was like watching a Saturday morning childrens soap!). I was dragged along by the other half and was even more dissappointed by New Moon. The story is slow and, quite frankly, embarrassing. Do young teenagers really act like this?? Hope not! This is a teen romantic and if you have any amount of testosterone stay clear! (read more)

Ok, I got sucked in by the hype again, (apologies for pun). I watched Twilight, and was a little disappointed, so wasn't really expecting much from the sequel. I got dragged to watch this movie over the Xmas holidays, and yes, the cinema was filled with teenage girls. Not a great start.
Anyway, back to the movie... it's OK. Not great... probably about the same as Twilight, except a big difference - this time around you're subjected to half naked werewolf men/boys whatever, who use every...

I was expecting a lot more from this movie, seeing as they had a different director than the first. The most disapointing thing for me was that the movie wasn't nearly as true to the book as I would have liked. I thoroughly enjoyed the books, and they are a series that I could read again and again. I could not however watch this movie again and again. The only saving grace for this movie is that you get to put a face to the new characters. (read more)

This must be one of the most amazing films i have ever seen!. Ive read the books which are very different to the films, but im not complaining the books are amazing. i liked all of the film, not a moment of it was dull, it was really upsetting when Edward leaves Bella, but all for good reasons, but the relationship between Jacob and Bella becomes stronger which is nice to see as she becomes depressed after Edwards departure. Such a big disapointment! I thought that New Moon will be far better than Twilight was, and it is far worst. The script is overall mediocre, it seems that no work has been put into it, some wrong choices in the scenes and the way to treat or link them.The directing crew has poorly done its job too. We are agonising while watching the actors struggling in their roles with so few dialogues and the intensity showed in the book is overplayed by the main characters. The make-up is just passable,... I thought that the movie was genius. It is a horror/romance. It is the sencond film in the twilight saga. It is about how a human called bella falls in love with a vampire called edward and she injures herself at her birthday party and edward decieds to leave her to kepp her safe. She goes into a depression and metts a boy called jacob blask who is a werewolf and she is fine. I have unfortunately not been able to see new moon but from what i have heard from my friends it is an excellent film. I don't understand the people who get upset about how they didn't fit enough detail in from the book to the film. The books would be always better, but this movie saga is a honest attempt to capture the essence of the books. Yes, it has some dull moments, and the acting could be improved, still the cast seems to go along very well. It is just entertainment, so relax and enjoy it. The movie has very attractive people and places, the subject is romantic and a little bit gothic, if you dislike this kind of movies, just pick up something else at the theater. (read more)

Books were great and could not put them down, but the film, although entertaining, was very mediocre in comparison. It was hugely watered down, and lacked some key footage to link it all together. I found this review not helpful because it points out the complete obvious, giving no reason to see the movie other than "how it just picks up from the last story" like every other sequel to a movie does. Then it tells us to read the book, and how apparently everyone "luvz" this series when, in fact, a large portion of society thinks it is the worst piece of literature ever written, myself included.

I wish i could award this piece of watery gruel less than one star but i can't. The story is so arbitrary and was much better the first time around when it was called "The Vampire Diaries" back in the 90's. Anyways, its insulting. Its purposely written with Bella being an ambiguous character with nothing defining so that you morons can all find something to identify with whilst the males are overly characterized in contrast, providing concrete fantasies and a strong merchandise line.... At least he or she can formulate a cohesive thought, and deserves to be considered sentient, unlike you dingle-berries. Twilight is trash. The books aren't well written. The characters and the plot are hollow, and the story is utterly meaningless. Most women (as in, females of maturity) find Twilight offensive because all the main character aspires to is being knocked up by a bunch of pretty boys.
<br/>
<br/>Here's an example: does it make sense that werewolves would be hairless in human form? No. So why are they? Because Twilight is a teenaged sex fantasy. There's nothing wrong with that, but don't pretend the story is intelligent. Here's another clue: most women (refer to previous definition) actually like men with a bit of hair. Why do teenaged girls not? Because hairless men appear less masculine, less strong, and are therefore less sexually threatening. Teenaged girls aren't yet sexually mature. The whole premise of Edward is that he can't actually have sex with the character, so despite their sexual tension, he remains sexually non-threatening.
<br/>
<br/>I'm not saying I despise anyone who likes this movie, though I can see why the original reviewer does. One of my best friends loves the twilight books, and she's in her forties (much older than I, I should add). That said, she's intelligent enough to recognise that they're nothing more than stupid fun. Use your loaf. There's nothing wrong with movies for fun, but if you pretend they're intelligent, then you're looking up to an empty-minded, empty-hearted character whose only aspiration is to get knocked up. That, surely, is not a good message for teens. Perhaps Meyer is trying to make Emo kids behave more like Chavs in order to balance the population down the line.

I was born in 1989 and i happen to like this movie. It does not matter if this vampire movie is different than others.. so what?? vampires are fake anyway there is no truth in any of the vampire movies, anyone could just invent anything, and this movie is different but that neccesarily isn't a bad thing. People have their own opinions and if people like this movie that does not mean they are stupid because everyone has their own likes and dislikes, and you should not be insulting people just because they dont have your same opinion...talk about immature...calling girls stupid for liking the movie when really you are the one acting like a stupid person..shame on you =P

Haha... These books have been out for years and this is the second movie of the series but yet you still watched it? Not only did you watch a movie that you knew you wouldn't like, but you also criticize other people's opinions.
<br/>
<br/>I imagine this is how it went down:
<br/>
<br/>"HMMMM, what is all the hype about this Twilight stuff? I think I'll read it! OMG, that sucked!!! It's just like Vampire Diaries, which I have also apparently watched. I better go tell everyone how bad it sucks!!!"
<br/>
<br/>3 years later...
<br/>
<br/>"WOW!!! They made a TWILIGHT movie??? I better go see it!!!"
<br/>
<br/>"Well, it sucked just like the books. Boy does that series suck. I would never pay a dime for it. That's how bad it sucks."
<br/>
<br/>Another year later...
<br/>
<br/>"OMG!!! NEW MOON is out!!!?? I better go spend $8 dollars on a ticket so i can tell everyone how bad it sucks!!!!111oen Then I can even write a bad review on the internet while using perfect grammEr!!!"

The special effects were wonderful. The down points: In Twilight all the vampires have black eyes, we infer they turn gold when they eat and Edward's change off and on. In New Moon all the Cullens have bright gold eyes all the time which is frankly distracting and detracts from their great vampire looks. Especially giving Alice a frightening look rather than the sweet Alice we saw in the first film. Also Alice is supposed to be short and petite. They accomplished this illusion in Twilight.... I love all the Twilight books- but like most books to film, it leaves a lot to be desired. I thought that, the acting in New Moon, was actually worse than "Twilight", and honestly, I thought the direction was horrible. Overall, poor acting, cheesy scenes and dialog, and it lost about 80% of what makes the books so great.
