Bernd Scherak Language and Travel Guide to Crotia - I read a NY Times article about Zagreb and realized how little I know about the region. If your geographical knowledge is like mine, i.e. a little rusty, Croatia is in between Slovenia and Bosnia across the Adriatic from Italy's eastern coast. While I haven't been to Croatia yet, this book has been so helpful! It explains basic Croatian grammar and phrases plus has great maps and city guides. There's a large section on dining that discusses culinary traditions and has lists of food vocabulary. The idea of waterfalls, castles, museums, and beautiful beaches in one trip is thrilling. Language and Travel Guide to Croatia is helping me create an itinerary and I know when I get off the plane I'll be able to say more than "please" and "thank you."
