I used to love American Adventure when all the really good rides were there like the log flume (which was the biggest i'd ever seen in my life), and when it used to be really american styled, with the can-can girls an cowboy shows. But then everyone who worked there seemed more and more like they couldn't be bothered. (Also they moved the entrance from the alton towers styled way, to prison gates at the bottom of a car park).- Read Guest's review (117 words)

Due to a series of misguided ventures this theme park is now closed. A pity really, because it provided seasonal employment and good family fun in its heyday.- Read glendon27's review (135 words)

We visited the American Adventure theme park as a party of 3; 2 adults and our son aged 6.
From the point of view of our son the park offered a variety of rides, and there were only 3 rides our 6 year old couldn't actually go on due to him being too small, so he thoroughly enjoyed his day out.
From an adults point of view, the fact there were so many rides for our son is a good point. The admission fee is reasonable (search the internet as you can get your kids in for free with vouchers) ...- Read rbtarn's review (236 words)

American Adventure - A lot of rides for the children and as not many people were there there was no queing. The place is quite run down. But the staff ruined the day, we had travelled 200 miles on a weekend trip and been to Gullivers the previous day were the staff were friendly and helpful, here 10 miles down the road the staff made no effort to make the day enjoyable for customers and had a terrible attitude. We participated in the treasure hunt and were sent on wild goose chases from one en ...- Read Demon Defender's review (199 words)

Our day out at the American Adventure theme park was a very disappointing day out, even after using vouchers to get in with (hence there are so many vouchers circulating because they are having to drum up custom). American Adventure use to be a theme park that suited all ages; young and old people used to come away wanting more, but it is not the case anymore. If after reading these reviews you still go, you will wish you had taken notice of this website. Go to Flamingo Land instead!- Read princessdebs's review (200 words)

I went to American Adventure yesterday with my school, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was told that all of the rides had been shut down, but the 2 best rides are still there (the Twin Loop and Water Rapids), but the rest of the rides were pathetic. I wanted to go on the Pirate Ship, but I was told I was too heavy, and I queued for almost 45 minutes to go on the £15 bungee with 2 of my mates, but when I got there, I found out the price had gone up for the day and was now £25. Even on a warm summer Sunday it was quiet at the American Adventure theme park, so we didn't have to queue for anything, and the kids could go on rides as many times as they wanted. The range of activities was very wide and varied, from the Roller-coasters and water splash rides to the JCB driving and the Rodeo show, with lots of things we could all do together as a family. The park is well laid out and easy to get around. Lots of Parking close to the park entrance as well. In a full day we didn ...- Read DadwithKids's review (179 words)

I have a new name for the AMERICAN ADVENTURE theme park - from hence forth I will be calling it the American MISS-adventure. Don't wast your time or money going here. It is really not worth going. It was once a really good place to go and visit, now it's awful.- Read mysts of nottingham's review (90 words)

Even a sunny day at the American Adventure theme park couldn't cheer me up. The staff were unhelpful. The food was revolting, and after half an hour, me and my family left. Where were all the rides I loved, such as the Log Flume, Missile, and even the go karts? Destroyed! To make way for children's rides. To make matters worse I still got charged £15 for a miserable day. Nothing can help American Adventure now, as it's dug itself into a hole that it will never get out of. Take a tip from A ...- Read Cute boy's review (119 words)

The American Adventure theme park has very few rides for young children! The prices were terrible and the food was awful and served by miserable staff.
I paid full price for my 5 year old son to get in, and found he was not tall enough to be allowed on 90% of the rides. Smaller kids stuff then cost £1 per go extra. Never never again!- Read neverneveragain's review (65 words)

My four year old son loved the American Adventure theme park! It was a very quiet week day, and we did not have to queue for any rides. In fact our boy asked to stay on some rides, and the staff kindly let him.
The park was very clean. The good points far out weighed the bad.
I would recommend, and I would go there again! My four year old cried when we had to leave.- Read Lindslfc's review (142 words)

We had a really good day out at the American Adventure theme park. The rides were good, and they have lovely animals, such as rabbits and goats. Unfortunately, the food was a bit expensive, and the park was small with big queues for rides.- Read debs06's review (55 words)

Me and my family have visited the American Adventure theme park since I was 10. I am 26 now, and for the last 16 years I have thoroughly enjoyed going. However, when visiting this year we discovered the larger attractions such as the Missile and Log Flume have been taken out and replaced with kids rides, many of which they now charge for, such as coin operated motorbikes and orbiters, and a third of the park has been blocked off and is no longer used. Staff there said they have "made it more chi ...- Read clairewright's review (275 words)

American Adventure - The age of some of the rides seem to let down the park, the attitude of the staff can very off-putting. The park itself had not been updated in quite some time, with no new major rides as such, the rocket is the only fair rollercoaster they have there, and that now is starting to show its age.
It's time for the park to be either put out of its misery, or to which I hope, have a lot of money spent on it with new rides, new facelift, etc. Many years ago they had the wild ...- Read solair's review (212 words and 1 comment)

Ive been to American Adventure twice, both times it has been enjoyable, but the second time there was a lot less to do.
In 2002 the park had some great rides such>as 'Missile', and The Log Flume, but the log flume is being demolished, and the area where the 'Missile' is, is closed.
I'd recommend Twin Lopper and The Runaway Mine Train for a thrill. The wild west show is rather good too.
The New Orleans Mall area, is often closed, and the Buffolo Stampede is rather dissapoiting.

We went to the American Adventure today and we where very disappointed with the whole day. There was a lack of rides and staff and also no people there.
We did ask a member of staff if the park was closing as it really does look like that and he laughed and said "Well it looks like it".
Don't bother.- Read jordaninspire's review (80 words)

American Adventure is a good, family day out. The setting is lovely - as the park is laid out around a lake. Since the entry price is quite reasonable you don't feel that you have to be on rides all the time, in fact on a nice day it's good to just take your time and enjoy the views.
There's plenty to do, but as with most theme parks good weather is preferred. In addition to the usual rides, there are two roller coaster simulators, which my daughter really likes (she doesn't like real roll ...- Read spudmachine's review (291 words)

We have been to Nottingham The American Adventure twice now and both times it looked like it wasn't finished. There seemed to be a lot of open spaces between rides. I was impressed with the price of admission until we had to pay for some of the rides when we got inside. The log flume kept breaking down (once when we were on it) and other rides seem to have problems.- Read chezza's review (71 words)
