Description (provided by business)

Manchester Window Factory (HeadOffice CenturionHouse 129, Deansgate ManchesterM3 3WR) We promise not to sit in your house for hours on end reeling out a sales spiel which will only serve to insult your intelligence. Over the years, our business has grown organically through word-of-mouth. While most other companies in our sector are sales-driven, striving to reach their targets each week, our ethos is to focus on the customer, not the sales, as, in the long term our customers do our selling for us. We take pride in our after-sales service too. Again, by looking after the customers we have, we don't have to spend thousands each week on advertising. In today's internet age, the true reputation of a company can be found at the click of a mouse. We take pride in our reputation and strive each day to ensure our customers keep coming back and saying nice things about us.

“Worth the money”

We opted for the SAC bolts system (my hubby is v. security conscious) and the A+10 rated glazing upgrade for our windows and French patio door. Really happy with the workmen who travelled down at 4am to arrive at 8.30am and worked until 5.00pm that day. They came back the next morning at 8.00am and were finished by lunchtime. They worked hard and left the place spotless, vacuum cleaning and cleaning as they went. The house is now so much warmer and looks great too.Everything that was promised… Read Full Review

“Fabulous windows and doors in Birmingham”

Written on: 02/05/2015 by pennythomas99 (1 review written)

Visit www.manchesterwindowfactory.co.uk

After reading all the great reviews online, we wondered if MWF would install in the Birmingham area so were delighted to see that they had an office in Birmingham. Just like others have stated, we were visited by one of their owners the next day and given quotation for 12 windows, 3 doors and one of their new wave patio doors (which is fab by the way). Although they were the dearest at £13,215, they offered the highest spec and that was important to us. They would have been cheaper if on a… Read Full Review

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. You are correct that we use our own guys, which means we know them all personally and know that they install to our required standards and that of Certass. It is, of course, tempting to use local subcontractors as the larger nationwide companies do, as this would be more cost effective for us, but we have a reputation to protect, so we only use our own guys.
Brian, our service engineer for the Midlands and South Wales area is very professional. Approximately 90 per cent the time he can carry out any repairs on his initial visit. If it turns out to be a production issue, he will raise a call out from our factory and we will send one of our engineers with any new parts. The service aspect of our business is vital in retaining the reputation we have worked hard to establish.

As the owner of a stone house built in 1850 I wanted to retain the character of the property which has existing wooden framed 'georgian' windows. Only two remaing windows needed to be upgraded to double glazed units but I was aware that they would be problematic to replace. A very large bay window with a distinct lean was the one which I was particularly keen to entrust to a firm which would recognise the problem whilst delivering a superior result. Internet searches produced Manchester… Read Full Review

“REPLACE CONSERVATORY ROOF AND WINDOWS”

Written on: 23/03/2015 by DMHB (1 review written)

Visit www.manchesterwindowfactory.co.uk

Found dealings with Manchester Window Factory good throughout. From initial contact, first visit, survey and work carried out they were obliging and work was carried efficiently and to our specifications. Only slight negative comments, drip from gutter where sections are jointed and one window lock is stiff and need attention. We were concerned finding that the windows steamed up on the outside, having upgraded our current conservatory, but understood why when explained. It would be good to… Read Full Review

Thank you for this review. We were notified of the gutter and stiff window on Monday and are returning on Wednesday afternoon to address these issues. Thank you also for pointing out the misting which occurred on the outside of the glass. It's good feedback for us. We should make more of a point of emphasising this when we install.
Because we have installed A+ rated frames on this job, the warmth from inside the conservatory is not travelling through the argon-gas-filled cavity and thereby reaching the outer pane. Most double glazing allows some transfer of heat through the cavity which warms the outer pane. Misting doesn't occur on every window installation and depends on climatic conditions. My neighbours have asked me about it, as mine is the only house on our street which it affects. The simple fact is that mine is the most energy-efficient glazing on our street, as you might expect. There is plenty of info out there on the net regarding this but I fully take your point on board here. In future I will ensure that we explain misting to our clients

Liked the confident manner in which the sales person carried out our initial enquirey, he made us aware of our options concerning the glass roof we were wanting for our small conservatory. Also replacing three windows one of which was above the conservatory and he advised us on a design of window that could be cleaned by sliding the glass for easy access. All jobs completed today only taking one and a half days and the two men who completed the work were very polite efficient didnt even stop… Read Full Review

absolutely stress free experience. From the family members who own and run the firm, to the surveyor, delivery drivers, office staff and the fitters , everybody has been wonderful. The windows and doors are of excellent quality and have been professionally installed. They are not the cheapest out there, but that wasn't we wanted. Thanks for this review. It's good to hear that everybody has been so professional. Danny and I operate a total "no bull" policy. We know that people are sick of double-glazing salesmen and women trying to pull the wool over their eyes with silly gimmicks or trying to find out their lowest price so they can "close the deal" on the night. We like to think we are more professional than that. We have a great deal of confidence in our team and want people to buy from us, rather than us trying to sell to them.

I have just had two large bay windows replaced at the front of my 1930s semi. I wanted modern technology but within a style that reflected the look of the original windows that were once there. I could see from the many website pictures that something more historical was well within MWF's remit. First of all the person I dealt with came round to get my requirements and "sell" me double glazing. True to the logo "windows without the bull" he was here just an hour. Thank you for this review. I am pleased the job went so well. This was one of our trickier, bespoke orders where we were asked to fit uPVC windows onto a curved sill. The only way to achieve this was to install onto a hardwood sill. We also installed astragal Georgian bars to the toplights. The whole job needed to be thought through, checked and double checked. We liaised with the customer throughout to ensure we had the same vision for it. In the end, thanks to careful planning and communication and a great fiiting team, it came out perfectly. I've slept better since we finished this one!

What a great company that is engaged from the owners to the window fitters, No comissioned sales men or sub contract fitters. A great experience with good communication and trouble free window fitting. Thank you for writing this review. We have a couple of teams who do the distance jobs so it's no problem if customers are outside of the Manchester area. Obviously, the size of the order needs to relate to the distance we will travel in order to justify the extra expense. We tend to find that we are still reasonably competitive. The additional cost of this order was only £120 for the hotel and £50 for fuel. This additional cost was covered by the company.

We couldn't find a decent local company where we live in the East Midlands so asked MWF to quote. They assured us that they would have no problem servicing any future problems as they were always up and down the country. Sure enough, after 6 months, we had a problem with one of the windows. Nothing major, but the sac bolts appeared to be 2-3mm out of alignment and were dragging on the keep. We had a service engineer here within 2 days and the problem was addressed. After two weeks of insulting quotes from smarmy d/g salesmen we were worn out. We liked all the reviews we read so invited MWF to quote. What a refreshing change!! The window and conservatory industry has a bad reputation for using out-dated, hard-sell techniques. We don't work that way. We are confident in our prices and quality and allow these things to sell our products for us. We have worked hard over the years to establish our reputation so we don't need to pull the wool over people's eyes. Our attitude is "if they want it, they'll buy it. If they don't, they won't". We don't insult our customers' intelligence with silly gimmicks. We just offer a fantastic product and service at a reasonable price.

“4 months of leaks and flannel”

Wonderful people, great products, shocking installation and virtually no after sales care: that is our experience of this company. My wife and I signed up for eight windows, a 'stable' door and a conservatory last July (2014). The installation of the windows took place a few weeks later and the conservatory arrived in July. Ours is an old stone-built house and so the shape of the conservatory was tricky and we understand that this adds difficulty for the company. However, the door arrived… Read Full Review

On this occasion we appear to have been short of the mark regarding our aftersales obligations. Having spoken to the team, I have got to the bottom of the issues and these are being resolved, albeit not as speedily as I would like. Unfortunately, the person dealing with this, Mark, no longer works for the company and so promises he made were left unfulfilled - this has led to a lengthy delays in getting these issues resolved. We are scheduled to return next Tuesday to carry out the remedial works.
With reference to the 'leak', it was explained at the time that this was a build up of condensation from the build and that the wind, when blowing in a certain direction, was forcing this build up along the ridge and into the conservatory. I spoke to this customer regarding this issue and was told that the issue had now resolved itself. If that is not the case, of course we will deal with it.
I have apologised to this customer for our shortcomings on this issue and have assured them that all is being done to resolve things as quickly and effectively as possible. The issues themselves are very easily resolved. Where we have failed is in the continuity of service and in a lack of communication. We take a great deal of pride in our reputation and take these matters extremely seriously.
