    After seeing a position advertised by Shorterm, I submitted my c.v. My c.v. clearly says that I am still currently employed, even though I was looking at other options. I never had any feedback what so ever from Shorterm, and therefore just assumed I had been unsuccessful. I then found out that they had contacted my current employer for a reference, which was a surprise to me and them, as they had no idea I was looking around. So without calling me first, to find out if it was ok to contact my employer, or to find out if I was even interested in what they had in mind for me. When I contacted them to find out what had happened, they just said that they hadn't realised I was still employed and that they needed to get a reference. It has now put me in a difficult position with my employers, with the likelyhood of me losing my present job, because of this. I found their attitude particularly unsympathetic to the situation when I phoned, and on principle would not recommend them to anyone.
