We visited Nanobyte bar last night and whilst i have always looked upon it as an easy place to meet friends for a quick drink, this time we won't be returning. The service was awful. They claimed to be 'really busy' but there were still free tables and oooh about 15 people standing, for a huge bar this is not really busy. We ordered a couple of their sharing plates, a charcuterie board and a 'moroccan' board. Both consisted of mostly olives and slices of white bread that was either a little stale or ever so slightly toasted (i couldn't tell). The worst thing was that despite the only thing that required cooking being some potato wedges, the platters took nearly an hour to arrive. Whether this was a ploy to get us to spend more on drinks or just genuine incompetence i don't know. When the platters did arrive they didn't come with knives or napkins - when i went to find some i got quite told off by a member of staff who said that he'd already seen some on our table (these were left there by the previous occupants). When we chased up our food and/or complained about the length of time it was taking the staff didn't once respond graciously with an apology or try to help us with our enquiry, they just argued with us (of course we had already paid for it). I wish we'd just cancelled it and left because when it did arrive the quality was definitely not worth waiting for. Don't be attracted by the location, the staff working that night couldn't care less about good service.
