Nokia 5530 XpressMusic
15 Jun 2009

Summary
Costing around €200 before tax and subsidy, the 5530 is somewhat cheaper than its bigger relative. And despite not having 3G, the 5530 XpressMusic does support WiFi and the screen has the same resolution of 640 x 360 pixels which makes it ideal for ...

Summary
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic

Pros
Low cost, Easy to user interface, Nice menu transitions, On board stylus

Cons
Poor call quality and coverage, Average camera, No 3G on board, Rattling keyguard slider

Verdict
Inside the box is the phone itself (still in a cardboard holder), a 'standard' Nokia mini-pin charger (ie not microUSB as some of the Finns' phones have been recently) and a tiny, tiny microUSB cable, which is about 7cm long for some reason. We can ...

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic review: Winner by design
20 Aug 2009

Summary
The XpressMusic lineup is fired up and coming after you with all they've got - from QWERTY smartphones to touchscreens. In fact, with the arrival of 5530 XpressMusic, the Nokia music line has more...

Pros
2.9" 16M-color TFT LCD 16:9 touchscreen display (360 x 640 pixels) ; Symbian S60 5th edition ; ARM 11 434 MHz CPU, 128MB RAM memory ; 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and VGA@30fps video ; Quad-band GSM support ; Wi-Fi connectivity ; ...

Cons
No 3G support ; No built-in GPS receiver ; Display has poor sunlight legibility ; Default font size is a bit small due to the smaller screen ; Somewhat limited 3rd party software availability ; Average camera image quality ; Video recording quality is ...

Verdict
With the 5800 XpressMusic shaping up as quite a blockbuster, Nokia had hardly any choice but to build on that momentum. The way up from the 5800 goes into Nseries territory really, so a lower spec'd device with an even sweeter price tag seems quite ...

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic review
24 Aug 2009

Summary
Bargain touchscreens seem to be trendier than winkle pickers and laying into Kerry Katona right now. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is the latest budget offering to appear on our desks after the neat Samsung Blade and the Poundland-worthy Alcatel OT-708. ...

Pros
Cheap, looks great, loads of neat multimedia features

Cons
Average camera, screen a tad too small

Verdict
A fine basic touchscreen phone with cracking musical extras

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic
10 Sep 2009

Summary
Not without its budget constraints, nonetheless, it delivers touchscreen tech to a wider market than can afford the N97 or 5800 XpressMusic.

Verdict
There are some compromises on features to get to the price, including a screen which borders on being too small for a touchscreen, the absence of 3G and GPS, lacklustre battery life and a mediocre camera. If you are on a budget and want to try the ...

Nokia N97
5 Jul 2009

Nokia N97 is an overall good start for competing against the iphone as the design and layout is good. I find it handy having the Qwerty keyboard which does take a bit of getting used to but easier at times than the touchscreen if you have big fingers. The touch screen is good and responds well & accurately.

I wouldn't recommend the Nokia N95. I only had it about 5 days & took it back. They're very bad for the money.

BlackBerry Storm
7 Jan 2009

The Blackberry Storm has a nice big screen, good for vids and pics but not for me, just takes to long to do anything, it would be ok if you had time to sit round all day and play with it but just getting up your phone book must take about 30 sec's.
Ok if you have time but not for someone on the move.

Acer N35
14 Jul 2005

The Acer N35 is small and nicely formed. I bought the GPS kit as it comes with car cradle, GPS software and reciever built in, UK maps pre installed.
The GPS was the predominant reason for the purchase. I have used a Navman and it was rubbish. It took me ways that were certainly not the quickest. The Acer N35 is much much better than the NAVMAN. The routes it calculates have even surprised me on occasion always being optimum (nearly). Battery life (rechargable with my in car cradle) is...
