    THE SONY VGN-FW series. I would strongly advise against buying models in this series. The fact that some of the features (such as the Wi-Fi button) are cheap and awful is the least of its problems. The circular hinges that hold the power supply (left) and the on/off switch (right) are fragile and connected by thin pieces of plastic. They are in exposed corner positions when laptop is closed. Guess what? Sooner or later you will end up catching them on something and they'll break off.

    The bottom line is that you're paying a high price for a poorly designed, cheap Chinese manufactured product.

    By the way if you send it back to SONY for repair they'll claim they have to take the whole computer apart to repair the circular hinges and it will cost you £220+!! I would be interested to hear if other people have been through this.

    I should have stuck will DELL laptops - they never gave me any problems.

    Excellent layout, plain easyuse keyboard`, good battery life.
    17' screen great for gaming/movies.
