I decided to try Bird's Eye Baked to Perfection after trawling through the supermarket looking for some frozen salmon. Some of the fillet sizes in other packs looked tiny and pretty unappertising. The Simply Wild Pink Salmon was a little more expensive but the butter sauce sounded nice so I thought why not.

Word of warning to anyone cooking in a fan oven. I found that even though I followed the instructions to heat to 170 it just didn't seem to get hot enough for the fish to cook in 30 minutes (I ended up turning my fairly old oven up to 180). The fish was realy good, as other reviewers have stated, lots of butter but I soaked mine up with mashed potato. Good sized pieces and good flavour. If I couldn't find a good pack of fresh salmon to freeze then I would get these again.

Birds Eye's Simly Wild Pink Salmon is gorgeous. It simply melts in the mouth. The flakes are firm, meaty and break away from each other like silk over satin. The butter melts delightfully over the fillet, oozing into every pore that when eaten gives the taste buds an amazing lemony kick while the herbs dance furtively around the lemon filling your mouth with full on flavour. This simply was baked to nearly perfection and I would be more than happy to claim this was my own creation however the only downside is that when you do present the salmon, you are confronted with white "scum" on the top of fillet which basically just tastes a little salty, so it's best to take that off the fillet before pouring over the rest of the butter. I do have to agree with the previous reviewer that there is quite a lot of butter, but you can either serve the fillet on a bed of rice which takes up a lot of the residue butter, or a bed of steamed vegetables which will do the same. I however just eat mine straight out the oven, with a crusty piece of wholegrain bread to "mop up" the sauce.

Definitely one of the items I will be buying for a long time to come.

I cooked Birds Eye Baked to Perfection Simply Wild Pink Salmon just under the heat stated for the length of time stated but was over cooked as its in a bag i could not cheak it,
when it come to tasting the lemon butter was far to strong and the plate was swimming in the butter.
