The Skilled Helper Gerard Egan. This is a splendid book. Every word well selected to convey the complex in a simple way. The book rings out with authentic views for troubled times and people. It practical nature means that it will always be useful and read again and again. The part that made the most impact was the reference (in the preface), to the 'hollow effect' wherein doing good is not counted as nothing bad happened.
