    Good Points: A good read.

Bad Points: Philosophizes about human behavior without a real grasp on the issues.

General comments: This book makes you think about the social environment in important ways, however misunderstands the nature of character, moral motivation and the distinction between determined and influenced. Takes psychology to be a definitive and certain science without critically assessing its assumptions or the context of the experiments. In effect, he tries to philosophize about human behavior without a sophisticated grasp of the issues. Okay, and a good read. But don't mistake selective, clever observations and cliches for wisdom.

I picked Malcolm Gladwell's, The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference book up after reading Blink, so I had an idea of what to expect.

It seems to me Blink was written in defense of this book. There are conclusions solidly drawn from weak evidence, which is the hallmark of bad reporting. The book does bring some interesting ideas to bear, and it broadens the ideas I had about certain aspects of the world.
