We've had this machine just over 2 years, only two of us is no heavy usage, it's predessor lasted for years. The other day After a cycle had finished I opened and noticed a strange fishy type of smell combined with oily smell and noticed washing Machine had moved several inches out from its normal place! We checked it and reward the laundry watching closely. Used a couple of times more no problem, today it's happened again, after spinning that smell and a heat coming from inside after cold... “BEKO exploding glass washer door”

I purchased this machine and after three days the GLASS IN THE DOOR SHATTERED all over my kitchen floor for no reason???? Luck for me this happended at night and not when my 5/6 year old's were stood infront of it.It does not bear thinking about. This product should be recalled. I purchased from Dixons and it took me all day to get someone to listen to me. My clothes are ruined and I have declined the offer of a replacement. An absolute death trap waiting to happen. Its quite obvious that the good reviews for this machine are false. It is that good a product that Beko Uk have stopped supplying it direct. Not only is it a death trap .They do not want anything to do with those units already sold . The spares dept are not very helpful , you cannot get any technical info from the because that would make them liable if any one got injured and the one we have does a Belly dance inside its housing . This has just happened to us, on saturday morning, our washing machine got louder and louder making a 'thudding' noise, as my mum walked over to it asking whats that noise, and as it got much louder she pressed the power button and held it in and the power went off, then a massive bang! the glass exploded all over our floor even reaching the other end of the room and hitting the ceiling! luckily with only a couple of scratches on my arm, my mum wasnt hurt, but it was bad enough! the clothes... Had this machine for a year. Bearings have gone - will cost more than I paid for the machine to repair it as parts not readily available being too new. Beko do not want to know. Would not recomment. (read more)

“Good to start off with but not lasted 12 months”

I bought this machine from Tesco Direct, I had been told to go for a slower spin cycle as it would last longer so I thought the 1200 would be great along with the large load capacity especially with having 4 young children. To begin with it was great especially with having the quick washes. However after 10 months the washing was coming out soaking wet and full of soap powder. I bought the machine from Tesco Direct in April 2011 and on the 23 Sept 2011 I placed a light load of pajamas and two towels into the machine. When the machine started to spin there was a loud thudding noise . When I walked into the kitchen to investigate the glass on the front door of the machine exploded across my kitchen and into my living room which is many feet away. I have owned this machine since February and last week the glass blew out of the door shredding my washing and leaving a trail of glass fragments luckily we were not in the same room as I dread to think what might have resulted from this. I bought the machine from Currys who were less than helpful and when I rang BEKO they said they could do nothing till the engineer had looked at it which I am waiting for at this moment. I was looking for a washing machine that was easy to use, held enough to cope with my wife and I plus 3 daughter's. Not an easy task for any washing machine.
This machine did not cost the earth and does exactly what i required.
Its key points are the amount it can carry, It is so easy my 6 year old could work it and the fact it has a countdown timer on it (something I didnt realy care about before).
Have not came across any bad points.

When I first bought this I thought it was great however 3 months down the line and the machine glass on the door blew out, I'm lucky I wasn't in the room with my newborn daughter. An engineer came out and believes that the glass must have had a fault with it and has never come across this before. Bought from Argos so am reciviing a replacement on Wednesday. I am so glad its not just me our machine has done exactly the same and I am waiting of the engineer coming out now. I think these machines should be re-called as you all the clothes have been torn and trying to get Currys/Beko to refund us has been a nightmare so far.

Exactly the same thing happened to me on Sunday 25 Sept 2011. i bought the machine from Tesco Direct in April 2011. The machine was filled with a very light load of pajamas and two towels. When it started the spin cycle there was a loud thudding noise followed by the glass exploding everywhere. Do not buy this machine it is a death trap.

Pros: BEKO is not a designer brand name but the product is of excellent build quality, easy to use, very very quiet, efficient and one of the most cost effective on the market. Easy to read LED screen and electronic programming. Was C from zero to 90. Top marks BEKO.
Cons: like all new machines, cold water feed only.

Unfortunately the same problem happened to me. Luckily my machine was on during the night so no one was hurt, but I awoke to hear to spin cycle getting louder and louder and then a crashing banging noise. I went downstairs to find the glass of my machine door shattered all over the kitchen floor. I am no impressed as I have only had the machine for 1 1/2 years. I am disgusted that a dangerous product like this has not been recalled.
