This is the best album I have bought for such a long time.
Florence and The Machine's, "Lungs" is a must-own album.
Value for money is excellent as I have listened to it over and over again in the car non-stop.
Everytime I hear it it hasd something new!
I first heard Dog Days Are Over on the BBCs coverage of The John Peel DStage at Glastonbury and have eagerly awaited the release of the new(and first) album Lungs.
It is truly Gothic this album, but without the dreariness, and introversion of trad Goth. Thers lots of imagery and Spektorish musical layers. Think of of Kate Bush, Siouxsie Sioux, and mix them with a dash of leftfield rock and you're only part of the way there.
There isn't really a weak track on this album, kiss the fist, drummin song (genius), rabbit heart, Girl with one eye, and blinding are absolutely brilliant.
In spite of the production, some may say over-production, the album does lack the intensity of the Glasto performance, but a recorded track will never convey that degree of intimacy.
Even saying that Florence Welch's voice carries the album, and will be money well spent.
