Summary
Green guilt is spreading. And so are green gadgets. The Samsung Blue Earth and LG Pop both aim to save the planet with solar charging and apps to keep your carbon footprint in check. And the Sony Ericsson Naite is also vying for your attention, showing ju

A basic green phone that doesn't compare well to rivals the Samsung Blue Earth and LG Pop

Sony Ericsson Naite
9 Oct 2009

Summary
The Sony Ericsson Naite is the first in a new line of GreenHeart eco friendly blowers from the phone peddler, promising a 15% reduced carbon footprint, a shell made from at least 50% recycled plastics, and a low power charger. It'll still work as a regula

Pros
The Sony Ericsson Naite is a nice, slim size and the 3G connection for faster web browsing and YouTube guzzling is always welcome. Anyone who's used a Sony Ericsson phone before will be right at home here thanks to the same old software and menu layout, a

Cons
So, the Sony Ericsson Naite is an eco-friendly phone. That's cool. Why does that mean we have to have a rubbish, two-megapixel camera in there too though? It's not like saving the world and decent cameras are mutually exclusive. There's no 3.5mm audio eit

Verdict
Hats off to Sony Ericsson for trying to go green with the Sony Ericsson Naite. Why launch a phone to celebrate that though, then strip out the decent specs? Keep up the eco work guys, but get back to making Cyber-shots, please.

Sony Ericsson Naite review
14 Oct 2009

Summary
The Sony Ericsson Naite (pronounces Nighty, apparently) is an entry-level 3G mobile phone with green credentials.

Verdict
The Sony Ericsson Naite is a solid yet largely uninspiring handset. Its green credentials are admirable, but it is expensive for a low-end mobile phone.

Sony Ericsson Naite
14 Oct 2009

Summary
Dispensing with design frills and touchscreen controls, the Naite is a straightforward handset with an eco-friendly emphasis. It packs in enough features to keep most users happy, including 3G connectivity and a music player, and its lengthy battery life

Pros
Fast 3G and HSDPA data speeds ; simple operation ; long battery life

Cons
Low-resolution camera ; microSD card slot is hidden under the back cover

Samsung E250
24 Aug 2007

I wanted a pay as you go phone on a different contract to my contract phone because the T-mobile signal is not reliable in some areas I visit. I didn't want to pay over £50 and I was surprised to find the Samsung E250 which fitted the bill perfectly and is on Vodafone. The screen is 32mm x 40mm and is very clear except in bright sunlight. It is quite slim and only weighs 80g. It has an MP3 player and fm radio - the latter only seems to play through headphones so I haven't bothered with it...
