I don't know why these guys don't have 5 stars. I have ordered from them before and they are fantastic. “Ignoring consumer legislation”

I bought a Traktor soundcard from DV, which developed a fault within three months of the purchase. DV would not refund or replace the item, in spite of their obligations under UK consumer legislation. In the end I was able to get a refund from my credit card company, no thanks to DV who were completely unhelpful. Also, when the item was originally purchased, their couriers DPD made a complete mess of the delivery. Grrrr I will not be shopping there again, and will stick with Andertons'... (read more)

“I have received the worst customer experience with...”

I have received the worst customer experience with this company. I asked for them to cancel my order moments after it being made and they did not respond. I am now on my third email to their so called customer services! My bank account has been charged which has caused me to go overdrawn and I haven't even got the goods. A friend and I ordered a mic each and an interface each on the same day in tow separate transactions from the website. For both of us it said both items were in stock, the website infant gave an exact amount they had in stock which was 3 or 4 of both items, however this was clearly wrong. We got next day delivery and were told we would receive a text or email when our orders would arrive, my friend got an email, I received nothing. I have a large band (12 piece) and we need a PA. (i'm in a pub band too, but i knew our PA requirements would be vastly different. As they are my local PA specialist i thought i'd speak to their 'expert'. I called last week, but the guy was off, and the chap that answered the phone didn't have a clue, so i called back. I bought the headphones on a Saturday and it was shipped on Monday to Germany. After only 2 days it was deievered to my door. Excellent and fast service! I also received a separate email from them with an invoice, is if the hard copy is lost I can reprint it and have it for warranty purposes. “Active Monitors”

Firstly they took my money and didn't note my order (over £1000 order!!!). I had to call up a week after to find out what was going on and they said my order had still not been shipped and that they would be sending out today. Didn't receive until another week and a half! Had to call up again.. Then when they did arrive they sent the wrong audio leads so had to wait for another. The box for one monitor was damaged. Inside the speakers looked used. Were these focal speakers by any chance? It is well known that they come from the factory looking a bit scruffy - but that's what happens when goods are made by hand.

Did you order the right cables and they sent the wrong cables? The "customer also bought" section at the bottom often causes people to buy the wrong cables or power supply because they are listed in this section, but that section is entirely indescriminitory - it just tells you what other people bought and they may have made the same mistake. However, finding the right cable on DV247 is one of the major downsides of the site :-(

Poor customer service, purchased a head set mic via cheque some time ago now. Called up after a week and the cheque was still at their office, not even been taken to the bank. Got the goods eventually but took some time.

Also I purchased a guitar lead last year, ok, only a £12 purchase but the attitude of the staff was more or less what do you want, your disturbing me from doing nothing....... (read more)

I ordered the items. Three days later i get the headphones but no controller. 2 days after that i get an email saying they don't have it in stock. Still no sign of it and no imformation. So canceled the order to get a refund and they have charged me for the FREE headphones without offering to take them back £72. Avoid these people like the plague. They will reck your plans or scam you out of money or both as in my case. Wish i would have read reviews on here before. (read more)

What a surprise the in stock item i ordered is NOT in stock! What self-respecting company takes orders placed in good will and takes immediate payment for an item that they dont have and can only "estimate" when they themselves will recieve the item? Very very poor practise, simply disgraceful. I suggest we all pay the extra couple of quid and and use an honest retailer. (read more)

This is quite a common complaint, but what people don't understand is that most companies they use who charge on despatch are storing your card details insecurely, where staff members can see and copy your card details or hackers can get in and raid them.
They do list any goods out of stock as "usually shipped within 3-12 days". This is a bit misleading, a glass half full instead of half empty. So if you want goods immediately then look for the green in-stock symbol and avoid the 3-12 days notes. You can always call them to find out exactly when products are due.

Are they dishonest? I think perhaps you didn't read the terms and conditions which state all this within them. But, hey, I didn't either until the same thing happened to me...

Following on from problems with a previous order (early Jan 2010, DV are an absolute disgrace! THey don't understand what cust service is!

I was completely lied to, info was with held regarding stock & delivery. If this was an isolated incident I would understand, however, in less than 2 weeks these morons have yet again pulled the wool over my eyes & cost me hard with the loss of 2 working days as I could not fullfill my clients needs on the back of DV's faillings. bought a beautiful M-audio Keystation 88 ,b-stock, from this shop. My God,what a mistake. They did an amateurish packing job because the keyboard did not have the original packaging. Because of the bad packing,the courier damaged the last 2 keys by leaning the item,vertically,on one side.

You would think that Digital Village would avoid problems like these,by packing a 20 kg item professionally,but they didn't. Sad fact.
