Didn't dig out your wellies in time for Glastonbury? Won't manage to cobble together a fancy dress outfit for Bestival? Well, make your way to one of the most eclectic music festival gems around this Summer: La Route du Rock in Saint-Malo, France.

This three day festival takes place within the ruins of an old French castle and on the sandy beaches of the beautiful cobbled street town of Saint Malo in Brittany. A breezy ferry ride from Old Blighty, this musical delight will play host to thirty of some of the most anticipated electro/alternative/rock bands. With last year's line-up proudly shouting names such as Sigur Ros, Foals, Ting Tings and Cold War Kids from the rooftops, 2009 is definitely not going to disappoint.

From the beautifully abstract electronica of Four Tet and the seductively intimate vocals of Grizzly Bear, to the wild and experimental Gang Gang Dance and electroclash queen Peaches to name just a few, this should be a mecca for all lovers of fresh and largely undiscovered music.
