    My Leupold VXII is a 3-9x50 with a fine duplex reticule and low turrets.
    The build quality is very good, and I've had no problems with this scope fitted on my .17HMR Savage.
    Personally, I like the lack of gadgets on this! (AO, Illum. ret.,etc.)
    I've found that in the field I tend to leave it on about 7x mag and just aim.....
    The optics are very clear for the money and with quite long eye relief, it is very forgiving to the user.
    With the VX range you get various options of reticule, turrets and mag, so you should be able to get one to suit your needs.
    Comparing it to my partners 8x56 S & B it's not quite up to that standard in low light but it's an awful lot cheaper.....
