On the 12th of Dec I purchased a pair of Ted Baker specs and did not receive an email confirmation. A couple of weeks later I emailed the company advising that I had not received it and asked them when I would expect delivery. To this day I still have not heard back from them. I've tried calling both numbers on their website and haven't been able to connect to speak with someone.

“Great Choice, Service and Price!”

Had delivery of my new RayBan this morning and very pleased indeed. I opted for the very thin lens option, due to my high perscription, which was advised by their opticain and they look great. My usual high street optician said that my lenses couldn't even be fitted into this frame and they have been with great success. Delivery was earlier than expected (I was quoted 10 days and they arrived in 8) Their staff and optician were very helpful indeed when I rang, and considering the usual place I go for my glasses said they couldn't be done I am over the moon that they could and I now have them for my holiday next week. Highly recommended.

“Long waiting time and no contact.”

I can't help but feel disappointed with my latest order from Specsuperstore. I've ordered twice in the past with no problem but this time, although they did take payment immediately, I was unhappy with their communication about my order and felt it necessary to contact the company myself after two weeks to find out what was going on. I was reassured but the glasses still did not arrive when I expected them to. I ordered these glasses with my holiday in mind but it seems now like I will be going without them. Can't see me using this company again.

Dear Mr Harris,

Having looked into your order we are aware of the following facts:

(1) Payment is taken on receipt of orders as per our Terms & Conditions which you agreed to when placing your order. This is no different from any other time you have ordered from us for prescription items.
(2) You were kept up to date via email about the status of your order which you were happy with and also after speaking to customer services.
(3) After speaking to customer services we advised of your delivery time based on the graduated prescription lenses you had ordered being fitted into your frame.
(4) We note that from the time schedule given the prescription sunglasses were delivered and signed for by you before this timeframe. No mention of an imminent holiday was ever discussed but we understand that you did indeed receive and sign for them before your holiday.
We are sorry that you were unhappy on this occasion, but we as a company did everything possible to fulfil your order within given timescales for you. which were actually fulfilled beforehand.

1. It is true that I have previously ordered and I was certainly happy with my previous order.
2. I received a confirmation email and then nothing until I contacted you 2 weeks later.
3. I was actually given a specific timeframe which did not materialise.
4. It is also true that I did not mention my holiday because I had complete faith in the dates given due to my previous experiences.

My biggest disappointment however is the way you have acted since I raised this issue. A simple "We're sorry to hear you're not happy with our service on this occasion" would have sufficed and you would have retained a loyal customer. Instead you have chosen to call my honesty into question. I can't help but feel this is poor customer service

“Third Pair Excellent Service”

Just ordered and received my third pair of prescription glasses from spec superstore, and they have not let me down again. They didn't have the frame I ordered in stock, but immediately let me know and kept me informed throughout. Unlike other companies I have dealt with online, they keep in touch and if any problems arise let you know immediately. The glasses arrived well within the time-scale they quoted. They even upgraded my coating as a gesture of goodwill for the wait. I will most certainly use again, and would highly recommend this company. Excellent service, excellent product, great prices. I adore my new Tiffany glasses and love the fact I managed to get them far cheaper than I was first quote on the high street.

I ordered my 6th pair of frames in 5 years from Specsuperstore yesterday and would never shop anywhere else for them. I do ask for a price match each time which has always been granted without hesitation. If anybody is in doubt over buying online, just make sure you have an idea of the frame dimensions you need and you can't go wrong. The first few pairs I bought were probably not quite the perfect fit but I know the right dimensions now and always look forward to buying another pair. I used to deal with Rowan (the proprietor I believe) but it has been a lady that has helped me over the past few years and she is brilliant.

“Good value glasses”

I bought a nice pair of Vogue glasses from Specsuperstore. Took a while to arrive due to trouble getting hold of the frame, but once they did arrive the prescription was bang on, looked really good and they were good value for money. I did develop a problem with the lens coating, but this has been resolved so all is good. Rowan the proprietor is really helpful.

“Very nice glasses”

I purchased a really nice vogue frame from Specsuperstore having been unable to find it elsewhere. It did take some time to arrive due to supplier issues, communicaiton about this could have been better but due apologies were received. The prescription, when I received my glasses was bang on. I did experience some problems with the coating on the lenses but this has been satisfactorily rectified and I am very happy with my glasses.

I'm a huge Ray Ban fan and this time decided to buy my new eyeglasses online after hearing of the big savings that can be made. I tried specs superstore after looking at their great selection of Ray Ban eyeglasses on there store. I had one set of eyeglasses and some prescribed sunglasses which I got a discount on for buying the 2 pairs. Their email support was very helpful along with their guides to entering my strength from my eye doctor. They arrived yesterday after 12 days and they are Awesome! Very happy & would definitely recommend to everyone wanting to buy Ray Ban eyeglasses on the internet.

“I had to wait a month longer delivery time than stated...”

I had to wait a month longer delivery time than stated on homepage. We were informed that there were problems with the suppliers in Italy. I had an optometrist (who was not from specsuperstore) provide me with a prescription. I provided this to superspectore and when I got the glasses back things didn't look right when I looked through them. It turns out that the prescription I had been given by this optometrist incorporated a cylinder power which I have not worn before, causing difficulty with my eyesight as I was not used to this. They advised me to wear them in for a week which is not an option for me because I planned to use the glasses after work when not wearing contacts. They did not send me the size that I ordered because according to them the size in that color doesnt exist. I have now sent them back as we agreed on but after over two months I still havent got my money back.

Hi Mr Widell,

Thank you for your feedback. Further to your contact with us we have to point out the main issue with the problem you were experiencing - your vision. As we discussed at length, you are mainly a contact lens wearer and the glasses you had made up were to give your eyes a break at evenings. You confirmed that your contact lenses are of a spherical correction where your glasses prescription incorporated a cylinder power of which your Optometrist prescribed. You described that images were 'slanting' which is one of the characteristics of not being used to a prescription with a cylinder correction after wearing contact lenses for such a long time.
We have advised you on numerous occasions to go back to your Optometrist to have your prescription checked which you have declined to do on every occasion. We also advised you to try them on for a few days permanently to see if the astigmatic correction resolved itself which in 90% of cases does work. We did not carry our your eye examination as this was done in Sweden so we can only go on the information submitted to us when placing your order, which we did in good faith. We have also tried to help and advise you of the problems you were experiencing which your Optometrist should have explained.
Unfortunately there was a two week delay with your frame due to stock issues with our suppliers. Unfortunately this situation was totally beyond our and their control. The frame you ordered is only available in one size which we did advise you of and you accepted.
You have advised us of your plan to return the glasses, which haven't yet been received, and we agreed that your account would be credited. You have had the glasses some six months since they were delivered.
We sincerely apologise about the slight delay with your order but the real problem stems from your prescription which we have advised you on numerous occasions to have your eyes re-examined. The glasses were made up to the exact specification you provided when placing your order. We can only help you further if you have your eyes re-examined to check the values of your prescription from the values you entered when placing your order.

We are still awaiting the return of your glasses and have asked you on numerous occasions to provide us with delivery details of the postal system you used and tracking details. These still haven't been provided after several requests from Customer Services.

It seems that I'm not the only one who has had a poor experience with this company? This would seem surprising as there are almost all positive reviews on this site. Unfortunately the reason for this is that the company are prepared to question the honesty of reviewers in order to remove any negative comments. I have had my review removed on 2 occasions so far & I am concerned that other reviewers may have had the same experience resulting in Specsuperstore appearing to have universal praise!

After struggling to order my glasses using my tablet device I phoned specsuperstore to advise me on how I could order. The lady on the phone gave me a great deal of advice and help and talked me through the whole process and put the order through for me over the telephone. As this was my first purchase online for glasses and my first vari focal lenses I wanted to get it right. The glasses arrived within the timescales the lady gave me and are wonderful. I went for transition lenses which are brilliant and would recommend them to anyone who needs to wear their glasses all the time as I do. I highly recommend this company and if you have any doubts phone the customer service number and they will help you out and put you at ease. All in all great service and saved a whole lot of money.

I ordered a pair of new driving glasses online last week and was presently surprised at how fast they arrived. I selected the upgrade pf anti glare lenses due to the purpose of my glasses and so far this has been a huge hit as they have been brilliant with the on coming glare from the head lights. Ordered on Monday morning an delivered Friday afternoon. Saved over £100 compared to the opticians quote and couldn't be happier with me purchase. Over all great staff and great prices but most of all the best glasses.

First off I would like to say I have never ever wrote a review but due to how happy I am with specsuperstore I thought it best. I went to get glasses from somewhere I have used a number of times and was set to paying the £276 it was going to cost for the frames I wanted and they where going to give me a pair for free, grate I thought then come the from that range only so ended up picking a pair that to be fair I did not like that much but there going to be free I am telling myself and my mrs that also was not best pleased with the price the month before xmas. So frames picked everything worked out £276 for two pairs though!!!!!! as thats what you tell yourself to make the £276 sound good. Then come the lucky part they could not fit me in for the test until the monday as it was the friday only a few days thats ok so off I went. After thinking for sometime that night about the price and the so called free pair that it worked out that you pay for, said to my girlfriend do you think you can get prescription glasses on ebay as a bit of a joke, no she said but look online well good job I did as I found the glasses that I wanted and was going to buy for £86 with lens not another £155 on top for the reactors just £50. I then thought about the free pair that i did not realy want and thought at that price lets get two pairs that I want so found a pair or oakleys that i had seen in the shop but put them down as the £170 for the frames was enough let alone the lens but specsuperstore did me the same glasses for £105 so i had the reactors in them at a cost of £50 and bought the boss with plain for spare, and went for it. I found the boss ones in the end for £66 from elsewhere and got them there but then found out that they would of matched the price and in fact they have now put the price to that on the site, just wish I had of know as i would of bought both of them from them. The oakleys come in five days, now I did not like the way the lens was put in so called them and was told to send them back next day, that they paid for and would have a look and then get them back to me that day, no way I thought it will not happen well I was wrong they not only did that but put the lens in how I wanted and got them back to me like they said and they look grate I am well happy you could not ask for a better job, Harrison Dale was the man, he had me send them back to him so he could sort out the lens and sort them he did not only that he was nice told me just how they would do things and made me feel like I was almost there sounds funny but he did, real nice guy. so in the end I got my two pairs but two pairs I wanted for £70 less in the end as I got 10% off from both places but as I say they would have matched the price for me but as I never said anything at the time I did not know, so if you do find anywhere online that does them cheeper they will match it. If your like me worried about getting glasses online use specsuperstore as If you do have any probs they will do there upmost to make them right for you, if also like me you had the place you get your glasses from telling you stuff like you cant do your own pb and you will not get a service you do hear A FREE COFFEE THAT I WOULD HAVE PAID FOR IN THE END, WELL NOT THIS TIME IT REALY WAS FREE thanks vission express.

“Best Service for an Online Optican”

Having recently had my eyes tested and being shocked at home much glasses and lenses were on the high street I decided to look online. To my surprise there were many online retailers selling the same products at much lower prices. I chose to use specsuperstore as they were very competitive, had good online feedback and a phone number that someone answered when I called. The glasses and lens combination I chose would have been over £125 more if I had gone with the high street chain I visited. I was apprehensive being my first pair, but the service I received from specsuperstore took all this apprehension away. Their friendly, knowledgeable staff, email updates and prompt delivery had my glasses with me well within the 5-7 days I was quoted. I phoned my order through due to the nature of the product and they talked me through my prescription details and needs and were on the whole very very helpful, would highly recommend. Huge savings and an all round brilliant store.

I have received my glasses today from specsuperstore, which are a complete hit. Ordering glasses online can be a stressful thing, but the helpful staff at specsuperstore made it very stress free. Checking stock accurately and helping me with my prescription were two of the things which they did for me. I ordered a pair of rayban glasses as they were £50 cheaper online than in the high street store I visited. I received them within 7 days of ordering as promised by the customer service representative I spoke to quoted, and they were perfect, brand new frames and lenses and a high street voucher for £40 off a case of wine. Excellent staff, product and customer service. Would highly recommend this company for their warm and friendly service which is not always found with online retailers.

I ordered a pair of Tiffany reading glasses. I was apprehensive ordering expensive glasses online, without trying them on, also not sure how the prescription would work. I added my prescription details to the order form and held my breath. I received the glasses promptly, using a courier, that kept me informed of the delivery day and time, and I was able to change the day of delivery simply by pushing a number on my phone. However when I tried them on, my fears seemed confirmed, as the glasses although looked beautiful, I could not read with them unless I held things close to my face. I had a horrible sinking feeling, that I was stuck with glasses that were useless to me. How wrong could I be. I telephoned specsuperstore, and a very helpful girl, could see from my details, that I had added something wrong on the prescription, making it too strong for me, and without any arguing required, asked me to send them back and they would replace them, with no extra cost to myself. They arrived back within the week, and they are fantastic. Well done for a great service Specsuperstore, I will definitely recommend to friends and family, and thank you to the very helpful girl on the end of the phone.

“Massive Savings - And I Mean Massive!”

I've unfortunately had to wear glasses all of my life but nowadays they are a fashion statement which is all the better. I have a high optical strength which has always made me conscious of wearing glasses but with new technology in going to the opticians there are more options available to consumers but with a hefty price tag. I was quoted £625 from my optician who I have been with since I was 13. This was a Dior frame with 1.74 index lenses. I was concerned this time by the price so went online and found spec superstore. I paid £270.34 for the same product and they even upgraded my lenses' coating to Crizal Forte for no extra charge. Less than half price! Their staff were very welcoming and helpful when speaking to them as I was a bit apprehensive about ordering online. I sent in my old glasses and they obtained the measurements needed to fulfill my order for my own peace of mind and I am absolutely delighted. A++++ and I won't be going to the highstreet opticians anymore. Save yourself a fortune. Utterly Brilliant.
