If you can get used to the unusual rear styling, this Peugeot 607 2.0d SE is incredible value for money. Huge depreciation means all the toys - Sat Nav, heated seats, auto lights/wipers, cruise- you name it is on these vehicles all for approx £4500 to £6500 at circa 3 to 4 years depending on mileage etc.
When you compare this to any executive rival - the rivals are more than double for less spec.
The 607 has never been popular in the UK and servicing at main dealers is reasonable apart from the usual story of when things go wrong electronically. Watch out for the infamous tyre sensors.
However, it is the old old story - put it back into perfect shape with FSH and you have no more chance of it going wrong than a comparable german marque but you will be paying peanuts in comparison in terms of purchase.
It does stand out from the crowd due to it's scarcity and BMW, Audi and Mercs have long been old hat with little finesse. No hot-rodder is going to steal it either so insurance is generally reasonable.
A little slow around town so dont expect to zoom around but the car drives you in complete comfort and luxury on the A roads and motorway.
Cant praise it enough for the low amount of money you will pay for a second hand.
