    Good Points: Good for use in boats
    Powerful caster
    Brilliant fighting butt


    Bad Points: Heavy if in use for long periods
    Very expensive on manufacturers web site.
    Not a rod for beginners


    General comments: I wanted somthing with a bit of punch when fishing large reservoirs and the Flextec CDX 66 was a possible choice. The rod is advertised on the manufacturers web site in excess of £300 however a search of the auction houses revealed them for a fraction of the price. It is worth looking round as a savings in excess of £200 can be made. The rod in use is a little on the heavy side over long periods. It is brilliant when drifting in a boat as it roll casts with ease. On the reservoir it has the heavy punch great for shooting the line but is marred because of its weight. The rod has plenty of feel with even timid bites being detected. It is also good when playing the fish and is helped by the fighting butt which spreads the pressure further along yiur arm making its 11ft length more manageable. It is not a rod for beginners but once mastered is a very effective piece of equipment.
