    Good Points: Nice sound quality
USB/SD/DVD-R and all usual compatibilities covered
    Bluetooth handsfree works well
    DVD image really quite nice

Bad Points: May as well not have an instruction manual for all the help it is - pidgin english and incomplete, doesn't really do the product any favours.
Switched/Permanent Live wiring incorrectly wired in the connectors. An easy fix, just switch them round, but a silly and annoying mistake. which leads on to...
You can't get at the DIN release tags - the front surround trim is solid and permanently fixed to the stereo, so once you push the unit in, it's there for good!
Flashing 'face-off'security light wired incorrectly - only works when the ignition's on. Still, at least it lets me know I'm in the car.
Claims to play MP4, but I haven't managed to find a format it can see.
Website claims the Bluetooth reads your phone directory - it categorically does not do this. The system can only store/display dialed and incoming numbers.
Phone controls very fiddly - call answer & hangup buttons far too small, and dangerousto use while moving as a result.
TA button - OK, I appreciate that things can get lost in translation, but the lovely people at Beat apparently read 'tune the background radio signal to the traffic announcement carrier on Classic FM' and thought it meant 'Tune the Unit to Radio 2 and lock out all controls'. So no TA functionality then.

General comments: An interesting stereo to say the least. I found the Beat Audio 550 for £120 and having checked some online comments I figured it was worth a shot. So, how does it shape up? Pretty well really. It pay's to remember that this unit is considerably cheaper than the rest of the market, so I can forgive the problems quite easily.
