I have used my Globe Organics Brushmaster for four years now (around 70 hours of shredding) and can honestly say that it has been my worst purchasing decision ever! When I wrote to Globe to express my disappointment, they did not even bother to reply.
When I enquired about trading it in, I was offered an insulting low trade-in price.
The machine clogs up and stalls frequently, even with dry material. Material gets caught between the edge of the shredding disk and the casing of the shredding chamber. During a typical shredding session, I am unblocking the machine every 5 to 10 minutes.
When the machine jams, it is an extremely laborious task to unblock it, requiring two bolts to be undone and then re-tightened in three stages and an extremely heavy chute to be raised and lowered.
The machine is far too heavy for me to manoeuvre. I can barely manage to roll it over the grass in my garden!
The machine is far too noisy. I have to be very careful how often, and at what times, I use it to avoid the wrath of my neighbours!
The cutting blades typically only last for around 8 hours of shredding and, being single sided, require frequent sharpening or replacement.
