    Villanova Apartments are clean ,and although a little basic its still excellent value for money, The stairs are quite steep to the upstairs bedroom could be a problem for the elderly,Do your shopping at the locals supermarket, we did ours at pingo dolce.Car motorbike rental is expensive, Bus fares reasonable,I took my metal detector and found loads of coins and some jewelry on the local beaches.
    I must mention you will be approached by Gypsies and asked would you like a watch or smoke,And sometimes by drug pushers.For us we loved the old town of Albufuria at night,The restaurants are of a high standard.

    Villanova Albufeira rooms large 2 double rooms tv with bbc1/2 and itv. rooms were very clean but we did have a few cockroaches !! there was no kids club or entertainment at night i would not recommend Villanova apartments 4 familys its hard 2 get any sleep its very loud at night untill about 5.30 am.We only stayed for 1 week it was long enough

    Excellent location situated on the strip, Villanova. Close to bars and restaurants. Amazing night live, lovely friendly people.Lots of free shots and not those pretend shots, usually sambuca or vodka. It is very reasonable to eat out it's a must to try the steak house at the bottom of the strip. It does cost slightly more than most places on the strip but it's so lovely it cost approx 60 euro for 2 for 2 drinks each and 2 main courses. the beaches are amazing. must go to the old town.

    Villanova Apartments, very good. The strip is great in the evening. Love this place been twice now and would recomend to anyone. No bad points.

    Went for holiday, only booked it about a month in advance we got a studio apartment which was basic but was enough as we just went out for dinner and tea. The view ova looked the pool, all the staff were friendly, was quiet but is was end of season everyone on the strip very nice had a really good time, wished went for 2 weeks now in stead of 1.

    Fantastic pool for kids and adults...we had some fun in it! Very clean resort. Handy for the shops and beach. Villas spacious and clean. The supermarket attached to the complex was extortionate! Overall, no complaints. We had a fabulous time at this resort. Plenty to do. Safe for kids.

    Very clean and spacious apartment. Lovely surroundings around the pool. Excellent locality to bars reataurants and shops. Good value for money with the excellent food. I recommend shopping around for your beers as they vary a lot, supermarket very expensive, cheaper to eat out. The beach was a way away so we got on the little train to the old town where there is a lovely beach.

    We went on the 28th of August for one week. I thought is was alright but there wasn't any entertainment or staff around when I needed them. There was also only two bar staff when I was there and it wasn't enough.

    Booked back in July for June 2008 but Thomson are not involved in this complex anymore so we had our money back in October such a shame brilliant holiday in 2007 there.

    Thomson Holidays have been attached to this complex for many many years and have done a brilliant job in looking after and entertaining all ages, hope the next operator continues this tradition. I've stayed at Villa Nova apartments on and off for the last 20 years as have many of my friends and never had any problems.     Well what can I say about Villanova Apartments, what a fantastic place the best holiday ever. The kids are entertained from morning till night even in the rain. Apartments very clean and spacious. This is the best family holiday we have ever had. We were all set to book for 2008 only they are not taking bookings absolutely gutted.

    The air conditioning is a huge point of complaint, I would not have booked if I knew we has to sweat every night. The web and literature neglects to point this little fact out. The villas have a.c and a nice little patio area. Feel like poor relation stuck in no balcony, no a.c apartment. We keep trying to go to marina etc to see the real Portugal but after a day at the pool we only get as far as the strip. Tonight we definitely make the effort.

    Had a great holiday, one of the best. Going back next year it was that good. Great Indian restaurant going towards Montechoro on the left hand side freddies also very good on the main strip.

    I would definitely recommend Vila Nova to anyone. Like I said before, it's very clean and the entertainment is very good. It's the best holiday I've had and I didn't want to leave! I would without a doubt go there again.

    I think the Villanova Apartments in Albufeira are very good for families. The reps were great with the kids, and being right on the strip was great for the shops and places to eat, although I would imagine quite noisy at peak times. We were in block 3, which is a ground floor apartment, and it was ideal for us with 3 children, and not too noisy being at the back.

    The beach having to be reached going down the appropriately named "Cardiac Hill". Also the pavements are very bad - definitely not ...

    I went with my boyfriend for a week and we were allocated a one bedroomed villa at the back of the resort. If you have a family you probably want to avoid being put in one of the apartments facing onto the strip as the pubs there can be noisy. We had a microwave and satelitte tv which would be handy for families. Cleaners were in every 2nd day with clean sheets and towels.     The Villanova Apartments in Albufeira are right next to the strip. There is fabulous night life with great bars, restaurants and clubs. Go to Reno's Bar, the Garage Bar and La Bamba. They are fantastic! And go to Mary Anns for a fab full English for only 3.50!

    The villa was very spacious and the pool was very clean and warm.

    The only bad points were that there wasn't very good storage in the villa, and there was a deposit that we weren't told about by the travel agents.

    All in all, we had a great holiday at the Villa Nova Apartments in Albufeira. I would go back, but not for a fortnight as it was too long.

    The only downsides are that there are drug pushers in the street who will hassle you when ever you walk down the street, and also gypsies begging for money. I was well and truly fed up with it by the end of our holiday. The local Police are obviously not bothered. Things also went missing at the Villa Nova as well, so BEWARE!
