Been to Maya so many times with my wife and children as well as with friend and they always deliver great food with a smile!Never been let down by them which is the reason why we go back so many times like others as this place always seems to be busy.The quality of food is top of the range and they have received many accolades for their quality of food and service!THE INDIAN IN SURBITON IS MAYA!!! Went with some friends to Maya as they have raving about this restaurant for some time now. I have to agree this was a fantastic experience, as soon as I entered the place it was so beautifully decorated very modern and clean. We received a very warm welcome and were promptly seated at a large round table, pappadoms arrived which were so crispy with a array of condiments, I particularly liked the coconut dip very unusual but so tasty. I visited Maya on Saturday 10/09/2011 and i would like to point out this was my 1st time! Sunday @ around 2.30pm i was violently ill had 2 take 2 days off from work ( My new job ) to be told by Maya that i could have eaten a sandwich which made me ill or a lettuce leave or i could have had too much to drink!!!!! I was digusted with the slow and poor service too ans the fact i was classed a liar on the phone and offered nothing in way of compensation. (read more)

I am a recent convert to this restaurant having been slightly let down by one of their competitors in the same area. I have eaten in once and had take out 3 or 4 times. The food has always been very good whenever I have had it. There are a large number of choices on the menu and they deliver, which is a bonus. There's a great selection of Indian restaurants on Brighton road but my absolute favourite is Maya, their food is so tasty I can't get enough. The waiters are always very helpful and the restaurant is beautifully decorated, I have recommended this restaurant to many friends who have also become regulars.

It's been a while since we've enjoyed a really memorable evening at a local restaurant but our last trip to Maya was exceptional. The restaurant decor is very chic and modern, the food is out of this world and the waiters are very helpful, the complete package. Highly recommended, we've already booked for next week. Terrible service. Arrived 8.30, ordered straight away, had toleave at 10.00 having not seen a sniff of our main course despite the waiter telling us it was seconds away 3 times. Casual couldn't care less attitude in what is a great looking restaurant.Would advise not taking the risk. (read more)

We visit Maya in Surbiton on a regular basis (almost once a week). This is why i felt i had to write a review on this place as it never fails to impress. My wife and I are great Curry lovers and we used to use another Indian not so far away from Maya but since this place has opened we have never gone back to the previous place.

The food is always fresh, service is extremely attentive (without being intrusive), the venue is relaxing and contemporary and value for money is great considering... (read more)

Maya looks quite imposing from the outside with it's modern black and white signage but I think that is because it is quite different from anything else around it so it stands out which is going to get it noticed. When Maya opened recently I did question the reasoning behind another Indian restaurant opening up in Surbiton when there is already 2-3 to choose from within 5 minutes walk, but after visiting Maya for the first time last week, I personally think the competition should be worried....
