We owned one of the older style air con units for about 10 years and found that it was so heavy and bulky we just kept it to one room.

We bought this for a loft room that got a bit too hot in the summer, but we wanted the flexibility to also use it in other rooms if we needed to

I must say, that even though its only a 9000BTU unit it works extremely well (better than the old 12000 BTU one we have) and I was very impressed with it.

As this is supposed to be a very 'long hot summer' I invested in the Homebase Portable Air Conditioner Silver & Black 9000BTU .Model 614151. You can get this model for around £99 at the moment (RRP £199.99) and at that price it is a 'steal'...it really is.Before I bought this machine I did quite a bit of homework on efficiency, running costs and portability etc. I chose this machine because as they say these days 'it ticks the right boxes'.
