Well, i had recently sold a property resulting in some spare cash and thought it was time for a vehicle change. So, having seen a few vehicles advertised under one roof at Thornham Car Sales I decided I would go and have a look on sunday morning. I arrived at 1140am ( opening times 11.00) and had to wait 25 mins for someone to come to the gate and let me in I explained that i had been waiting 25 mins but got a blank look and was told to park up and come into the farm.
I then had to walk the 100 yards to the sales pitch which in the adverts said 'cars kept in a heated garage'. Only to find a field with a load of cars in it !!Plus a few dogs roaming around to be told 'the dogs are ok up to a point' which filled me with confidence.
The farm owner / car saleman who showed me around speant the whole time telling me that he had made loads of money and kept telling me he had property in Dubai, sold boats, was having his Aston delivered that afternoon and that his sister married into the carcraft business!!! I only wanted to buy a car !!!
The final insult was when I told him I drove a Seat Leon FR, he said he wouldnt be proud of that and not to tell my friends I drove a Seat vehicle !!! Cheeky ###### !! Anyway, the 'heated garage' 3 vehicles in it, 1 vehicle on ramps,a 911 and a TVR which I wanted to view. The TVR had a flat battery, was covered in dust and obviously hadnt moved for months/years !!
While looking around at the cars which were parked on gravel which had dog muck scattered around all over I was told " right you have seen the cars, if you can vacate the premises now and let me know ".
I have never been in such an unproffesional car sales pitch in my life ! The man didnt have a clue what he was talking about, had no interest in selling me a car,was rude, scruffy and quite frankly a farmer and not a vehicle salesman.
I would never buy a vehicle from this place and certainly wouldnt recommend anyone to go there. The cars were scratched, parked in a farm and generally untidy.

See for yourself but please bear my comments in mind before you make the trip to this farm.

After seeing a car on auto trader website advertised by Thornham Car Sales of Royton I visited there yard. The car was a Saab 93 2.2TID 52 reg priced at £3975 The salesman wouldn't allow a test drive and simply said they didn't allow them, but said I could drive it around there site, limited though it was, full of caravans and other cars for sale etc. I did this and over-all the car looked ok, with a disrupted service history, the salesman was offering one months warranty and that was it. ...

Being new to this country and already nervous about buying a vehicle, I made sure that it would include a warranty. As we strolled around the
Thornham car lot, the owner mentioned that there would be a 3 month warranty on any purchase. Shame on me for not getting this in writing!

The vehicle was being worked on the week we purchased the vehicle, and there was a problem within the first week, which he addressed. When I called with the same problem 3 weeks later, he said that the warranty ex ...

Warranty's included, hand writen amount on the sales invoice

The warranty is in effect a figure written in Biro on the sales invoice. I purchased a car and my warranty was £100.

When my car developed a £600 head gasket failure within a month all I got when I called Thornham Car Sales was the owner is not in at the moment I will get him to call you back......... I have since heard nothing.

I am not stating that this is the norm, the garage may have good after sales, but in my ex ...
