    Good Points: Good trigger. Good accuracy. Safety lever and hammer move easily and solidly.


    Bad Points: Difficult to pierce a CO2 cartridge. The all black sights are hard to see compared to three dot sights.


    General comments: The Umarex Makarov is really nice CO2 BB pistol made in Taiwan. It is all cast metal except for the grip which is plastic. Even the stick magazine is cast metal. It has a nice shiny black finish with "Makarov" cast into the left side of the slide. This pistol has heft to it like a real firearm.It is a double action/single action gun that can be thumb cocked for single action, but it is non-blowback so it is other wise only double action. The slide can be manually operated and the trigger guard pivots down for slide removal, just like the real Makarov firearm. The safety is in the correct location and operates positively. The slide stop is cast into the gun for cosmetic reasons and does not work like the real thing.The trigger is better than my Gamo PT-80 which amazingly helps the Makarov smooth bore barrel acheive the same accuracy as the rifled barrel of the Gamo. Another thing that is surprising is this Umarex Makarov shoots to point of aim with its cast fixed sights. Hopefully all of these Makarovs are capable of the same.This CO2 pistol is a great plinker and close range target gun that allows for good practice sessions in the garage or backyard. It's definitely worth the $59.00 I spent on it.
