I couldn't disagree more with the two reviews already left for the Eckman hedge trimmer.

I can only assume that these chaps were unfortunate enough to receive a faulty unit (which does happen from time-to-time, no matter what you buy and where you buy it from), as what they are describing seems a million miles away from what I received and what I've been using for the past 6 months or so.

First things first; this hedge trimmer IS heavy and is probably not suitable for elderly people. But once you have the strap in place and properly adjusted, it's fine.

But, it does do what you would buy it for - trimming hedges - very well indeed.

I have a fairly big garden and the Eckman hedge trimmer made short work of cutting back all of my overgrown hedges and bushes. The blade easily cuts through the branches, and of course the fact that it is angle adjustable and telescopic just makes the job even more easier.

All-in-all, for under £90, this was an excellent buy and have even bought one for my brother-in-law.

Having just read JHFC's review, I could just write "Ditto" as I doubt I can match his eloquence in describing rubbish. But..............
I cannot even give it any good points as when the cutter (hahaha) arrived I was away and so missed the 14 day returns period.
I did expect the machine (hahaha) to be somewhat top heavy with the motor being at the top. What I wasn't prepared for though was the fact that the blades would not cut any type of vegetation. I tried the Eckman Long-Reach Electric Teles ...

I bought a Eckman Long-Reach Electric Telescopic Hedge Trimmer, which is plastic, to trim hedge top, it has no power at all, will not cut. At £89.99 complete waste of money.

If you have found this review as a result of looking around to see if these eckman long reach hedge trimmers are any good, then you're in luck.
