The position with "Crown" and other currency exchange firms is that there is no sure security for ones money over the "delay" period until one receives the foreign currency.Few people can afford to chance losing their money. There is no compensation fund. The Financial Services Authority surprisingly do not exert their strict controls over currency exchange firms and so there is no compensation fund. "Crown" and other firms are not even required to place clients' money in a seperate customers trust account. Neither is there any requirements for a strong balance sheet. In fact, if one makes access to Company House via the internet at a charge of £1, one can obtain a copy of the last accounts of "Crown". You will see the balance sheet is quite weak ..in fact the shareholders have chosen not to have the annual accounts audited.All this is not to say that "Crown" are doing anything wrong ..just one needs to be so cautious now-adays. One cannot even trust several of the building societies or banks!!!

Sadly the Investors Chronical had adverse comments about the financial position of Crown Currency. A google for Investors Chronical +Crown Currency will show the dire position.On the google page the heading is "when segregation is good" The article stated that Crown Currency is insolvent ...some would say "bust". That is the situation as per the last accounts filed at Company House.The full article can be read via the internet. It is not good as far as I can see

i already used Crown Currency Exchange service for 5 times. And it's always satisfied me. The rate is excellent. They always keep their promises. Now, I have no doubt about their service. I already recommend it to all my relatives and my friends.

the wife was skeptical but i was recomended to them by a friend that was good enough for me while we deliberated the doller went down so we went ahead and booked it and as they stated the money arrived on the day what more can you ask and the exchange rate could not be matched any where thanks team.

I wanted to buy a large amount of currency and searched the net for best value. I thought I had found it and then I came across Crown Currency by chance. What luck that was! Crown Currency Exchange is an excellent service and highly reccomended I got an excellent rate ordering well in advance of my hols, And they arrived on the day given. Maybe the only down side for some people you can't pay by credit card, ButI sent a cheque registered post cost 75p not a problem. Don't be frightened to use the service it's kosher, And I will def use again....

used Crown Currency for the first time for this holiday. for £500 they offered 30 euros more than my bank. ok so they had my money for three weeks but that's two meals out for us on crete. would recommend to everyone.

Crown curreny offered the best exchange rate, and we even got our money delivered to the door early, great service too!!
I would definatley deal with them again and have even recommened them to my sister in law who goes on holiday in october.

Ok, so I was a little dubious about handing over my cash online but Crown Currency Exchange were good to their word. The US Dollars arrived as promised with the postman and at a rate I couldn't get anywhere else.

Excellent service which I recommend without reservation. Would I us them again? - yes, certainly

First time using Crown Currency Exchange, excellent exchange rates on the dollar, a bit concerned that the money would not arrive on time, but it did just as promised. I would recommend using this site to everyone. If you can afford to order your money well in advance the exchange rates are brilliant. Best way to buy is through bank transfer, what they say on their site is true a reply email was received immediately and confirmation that the money had been received. EXCELLENT I will use thi ...

i have used crown currency 3 tlmes,found them easy to use and great value ,last year bought dollars for my holiday in florida made £400 on the deal using them again for my xmas holidays this year . cant beat them

What a great company!

Excellent exchange rates with very helpful, pleasant, polite and friendly staff.

Nothing was too much trouble when I needed to check a couple of things with them. Wonderful!

I would recommend anyone to try this company first before you buy foreign currency.Their rates are far better than any I found and they take outdated currency such as pesetas, lira etc.

Excellent service. Crown Currency Exchange Seem to have the best rate around and do exactly as they say. Pay your money by bank transfer which they confirm by email immediately upon receipt. My money was due to be delivered 17th August and has been delivered today, 15th August. Would highly recommend.

My brother told me about Crown Currency as he had used it in June this year and got a rate of $1.49 to £1.00 when average rates were around $1.41. He said the money was delivered free and on time and he would definitely use them again.

So I gave it a go and I got a rate of $1.635 to £1.00 when average rates were around $1.57. The currency was delivered free and on time and they were new dollars and we didn't get loads of $100s, we got a good mix of nice smaller dollar notes - perfe ...

One of the best finds ever. I have used Crown Currency Exchange for almost 4 years. In December 2008 I was on holiday with USD 2.07 from Crown Currency exchange purchased in advance, whilst my fellow passengers were holidaying with 1.70 !!!
Have always received my currencies on the date agreed in the contract.
To be highly recommended.

Had used M & S for currency exchange until I found Crown Currency Exchange came up cheapest in a currency rate checker on moneysaving expert. Rates can be locked in advance for up to a year and on $800 saved £18 over what M & S quoted.

Excellent communications, deliverd free and on time, simply excellent.
