Clocktower Rudding Park has good food, a pleasantly busy atmosphere and excellent staff.
A wide variety of food, both for lunch and dinner, and the ability to eat outside, in the bar or in the dining room. Plenty of choice - for a quick bite maybe big sandwiches; a choice of tapas or omelettes. For a bigger meal plenty of choice from a couple of menus (and the menus change reasonably often and there are always dishes of the day too).
Part of a country house, so a very pleasant setting, and easy parking too.
I've eaten there, with others, often and I can't recall any complaints. So you're likely to find something you'll enjoy.
For me the best aspect is the service; the staff are in that pleasing category of friendly and helpful. Not obsequious, not arrogant, friendly without being familiar and generally pretty knowledgeable on what's available and what it contains.
Whether you're after a quick meal or whether it's a special occasion I think you're unlikely to be disappointed - probably you'll be happily pleased.
