I have played this game as a good guy and bad guy enjoyed both versions.
I have actualy sold this game and then had to buy another copy as my son decided he wanted to play it again.
Good game and now it out of the new game price bracket its well worth the money.
The storyline is good and graphic's good and not many glitches or freezing compared to other games in same genre.

inFamous offers a unique experience. You take on the role of Cole, a man who has had the power to control electricity thrust upon him.

I will cut right to the chase. Graphically speaking this game is pretty sweet. Not the best of PS3's capabilities but it definitely has its moments.

The gameplay and plot is where this game really shines. My honest initial reaction to this game was a GTA Sandbox game with super powers. It was that fun.

The controls make leaping from building to building and beating random pedestrians a joy that can be undertaken again and again without boredom for at least the game's lifespan.

The storyline is full of twists and really is as engaging as an episode of CSI (one of the serial killer ones), and you are really just dying to find out what happens next.

The only negative aspect of this game would be the replay value. You make choices during the game that affect your storyline (shifting to good or evil) but unfortunately these decisions (except for one) do not have huge effects on what kind of ending you recieve.

If you are bad, people will treat you like dirt (but you don't care) and if you are good, you feel like your missing out on carnage and destruction.

Overall a very entertaining game that I recommend anyone to play at least once. If I had to choose between this and prototype, I would choose this just for its mindless entertainment factor.

“In inFamous you control a character named Cole. It is...”

★★★★★

written by brains on 04/08/2009

In inFamous you control a character named Cole. It is a third-person action game.

Story: A package was given to cole which exploded while he was carrying it. He got electrical powers from the blast which he uses for his own selfishness or to help civilians. Cole tries to find out who gave him the package and why it happened. Cole is assisted by others in the game such as his best friend Zeke.

Pros:
-Very good story with many unexpected twists. There are two stories, one for having good karma, and one for bad karma.
-Karma system where you have the choice to become good or evil which affects the city you are in. For example if you kill civilians, you become more evil.
-Free roam so you have the choice to go where you want when you want. You can climb almost anything.
-Detailed environment with little repetition which you can explore. There are 3 different islands with different enemies and bosses which have become more intelligent and resistant to Cole's powers.
-There are many powers to discover including defence and attack for example electrical shockwaves to push enemies into the air. You can upgrade these powers by earning XP by completing missions ect.
-Easy controls which you can easily master.
-More to do after completing the game. There are collectables scattered across the city, many stunts to perform where you have to kill an enemy a certain way, and many side missions which are very fun.
-Trophys are included in the game.

Cons:
-No multiplayer so eventually it will become boring.
-No neutral karma so you are forced to chose either good or evil.
-Too easy even on the hardest difficulty. Not challenging enough.
-Minor glitches (They do not effect the gaming experience).

Overall:
This is a must buy if you own a PS3. The comic book style hero/villain is fantastic and its one of the best games ever made. There is plenty to keep you entertained and the lack of multiplayer doesn't matter because the singleplayer is just so addictive. You will have to play this game at least twice because of the two different stories.
9.5/10
