“BORDERLANDS!!!! How is this game only £9.99 on...”

★★★★★

BORDERLANDS!!!! How is this game only £9.99 on Amazon!!! I would pay 5 times this and nearly did on release day. I was introduced to this game by a friend who regularly plays online games with me. I had heard nothing of it but he promised me that it was the next big thin. We had been looking for a good online co op game since we had bashed Call of Duty World at War to death. I bought it as my friend was buying it so thought I would give it a shot.
I WAS NOT DISSAPPOINTED!!
We have as a group played through this game an insane amount of times. With 4 characters to chose from it never gets boring. We decided to play co op rather than solo and although there was a few bugs initially it is all ironed out now. The idea of the game is to get into the Eridian Vault but your not the only one whoo is dead set on doing this so on route you encounter many enemys who are keen on stopping your progress. Also people who will bribe you to do them missions in trade for information money or weapons. There are many bosses and a crazy amount of weapons to be found on this game. Now with the downloadable content that has been released the game goes even further. If your a fan of FPS and enjoy a good co op or even solo storyline then I suggest you get your order in now at 9.99 this could be the best decision you ever made!

A game that I nearly missed as the cover was a bit lame and it didnt hang about in top ten if it was even in it.
But it was a great game really ,loads of levels and missions and graphics were better than i thought they would be not many players online but i really think this game was one that slipped under the radar.
Its one i'll play again.

“First of all, I am no fan of straight RPG games. I saw...”

★★★★☆

First of all, I am no fan of straight RPG games. I saw commercials for Fallout 3 and figured it was mainly a FPS with a few RPG elements, so I ran out and got it the day it came out. Needless to say I sold it on eBay about three days later. Thus I was very nervous about getting this game, because I did not want to get that same feeling that I bought a game pre-maturely to it being reviewed.
When it comes to Borderlands, this game is above all a FPS. There are a few RPG elements attached, leveling up, character trees, damage number indicators, collecting loot; however this is no RPG. The developers said that this game was as if an RPG and a FPS had a child, not true. This is like to FPS's having a baby, and then that baby has an RPG nanny.
If you like FPS, get this game. Although the graphics are cell shaded and a bit cartoony, the graphics are still some of the best/coolest I have seen on the PS3. Explosions looks awesome, kills are gruesome, guns/environments are extremely detailed.
When they say that there are 17 Bazillion guns, well, they weren't lying. Of course there are about 5 guns that you will constantly run across, however there are some crazy and innovative guns that I just cant help to pick up and try out! The guns feel real, fell heavy, and do some serious damage; especially if you are a higher level taking on a Level 05!!
The story is something to desired, basically you are a 'Treasure Hunter' that needs money, so you travel to the planet Pandora to search for this mythical place called the "Vault" where there is alien technology that is so advanced that the finder will obtain impossible wealth.
There are 30 story missions and 130 side quests. Mainly the side quests are used to level up so the story missions aren't as difficult. The missions are fun, exciting, and will literally keep you glued to the screen.
The split screen co-op is probably the most fun I have had with a video game in a while. Or you can do online, groups of 4, taking on waves of enemies. Thus, the replay value is extremely high - especially since it should take you over 40 hours to beat the story if you do a lot of the side quests.

In closing, if you are a fan of good shooters, open world games, a variety of weapons, and graphics that will blow your mind, GET THIS GAME. You will not regret it.
