After Apple slashed the price of the 3GS, it has been selling like hot cakes. I have had the phone for almost 6 months now and there is very little i can complain about. The interface is excellent and the feel of owning this device is amazing. There are the regular apple complaints like no flash, too much effort for media transfer etc but the overall feel of the product makes it worth it. Catch: You will go nuts trying to get a good case for this as most shops or online stores will only... (read more)

iPhone is fantastic. It's now an extension of my right hand! I had an iPod Touch so I knew what to expect, of course as it's a phone it could be a bit annoying with the short battery life... but that's life with smartphones. Also I don't know if I imagined this but it feels like the battery life is actually improving?! Bought from PhoneShop.co.uk who got me the deal with internet included and just 50 minutes and 100 texts as I don't hardly make any calls! Slightly nervous about having a... (read more)

I love my iphone but I have a gripe that I think applies to many. When things go wrong and you are out of the 12 months warranty nobody from Orange or Apple want to know you!!!!! It is well documented that problems existed with all the iphones so if there are so many problems, and lets face it iphones are not cheap to buy, why is it that you have to have expensive insurance to see out your contract. Are Apple basically saying that the iphone is only good if you have a 1 year contract? My... (read more)

Coming up to the period now where I can upgrade this phone (I've had it for just over a year) so thought it was an ideal time to review it seen as though it's been very well used.
I've been very happy with it, zero tech problems with it, although now its full of apps it does get a little sluggish.
The best thing about this phone is its versatility - its ideal for email, web browsing, texting, calendars and much much more. And is in no way dated despite being 2 years old.

I bought a used iPhone 3gs 16gb from these guys and it arrived 2 days later. For a used phone, it was as good as you'd expect. Box and cables were a bit grubby but this was shown in the pictures on the site. Phone works perfectly though and none of the various litmus papers in the device are red so it should be OK warranty-wise. Overall, an honest transaction. (read more)

The iphone is actually much better than I anticipated! The features are fantastic; there is so much you can do with it. It is hard to imagine ever having another mobile again!
The battery life however is an issue. Mine lasts generally less than a day which is terrible if you don't have access to a charger - I sometimes have to take mine in to work which I don't like doing!
Another issue is how fragile it is. Although I have yet to experience this (and hopefully wont), some of my colleagues...

It's true, once you have owned an iPhone, you can't imagine how you managed without it! It becomes a communication hub, and on top of that is beautifully styled. The interface is excellent, and from day one, you don't miss having a physical keys to type with.
The only downsides are:
- The case isn't very robust (mine cracked after a relatively minor drop)
- The camera is in the wrong place. About 30% of my pictures have my finger over the corner
- Battery life isn't too hot, especially...

sorry, could not find a better place to put this but just wanted to comment on Apple repairs service. I had a 3GS phone, which after upgrading to new firmware through iTunes stopped receiving operator signal. I research this online and found at least one case simmilar to mine, where the owner sent his (out-of-warranty) 3GS phone to Apple for repairs and they sent him a replacement phone free of charge. So I initiate a repairs sequence on their website, they send me a box and I ship them the... (read more)

I have the iPhone 3GS on Vodafone and absolutely LOVE it...it took me a while to get used to the touch screen but now I would be lost without it. One down side is the battery life - it does need charged every day.
A bit of advice for Vodafone iPhone customers - the default WAP (mobile data settings) are incorrect. This doesn't matter if you have 3G coverage, however if you do not have 3G coverage in your area, the internet access will be painfully slow, if it works at all. The mobile...

I have had my iPhone 3GS for nine months now and for me there is no going back. The memory on mine is 16GB, which is sufficient for me but you can also buy it with a 32GB memory capacity. The range of apps that you can buy is quite amazing as some of them help you in your every day life (eg. ShopShop which is used as a shopping list) whilst others include games which make sure that you are never bored.

Had this phone for 6 months now. Many great points and some not so good.
Being away from home a lot, I've found the apps really have helped enormously. Just to name a few : shopshop, scannerpro, anote, good food guide, dropbox.. These have all saved me carrying additional bits of hardware or books. Apps on their own make the iphone a must have accessory for me.
Phone functions are average. Battery life is awful if you use apps a lot like I do, so I make sure I can charge it regularly...

There's no denying that the iPhone design is cool. The device is sleek, stylish and the user interface is simple & intuitive. The big let down is that, frankly it's a bit of a jack of all trades rather than...

Seems like there's no turning back once you've started using Apple iPhone. I had a 2G before and I've recently upgraded to 3Gs. I'd recommend an upgrade for 3 major reasons:
1. Email -- I don't stay in the office most of the time and the email feature is very important to me. 3Gs downloads email much faster and works much better with the push features.
2. Map -- It can locate where I'm and can give me driving direction. It's basically a GPS and I can't go anywhere without a GPS!

Before the iPhone I never used anything but a Nokia. I hesitated for a while but it is true that once you have the iPhone it becomes your communication hub. Only downside is battery life but charging every night is a small price to pay for having a mobile office in your pocket.... (read more)

Just upgraded to a 3Gs 32GB Apple iPhone from a 2G 16GB iPhone primarily because I ran out of memory. I'd also experienced problems with the network (O2) and thought a switch to 3G might fix it. Stupid me really! I am in Bucks on the Berkshire border near to Slough and I seem to get 3G about 10% of the time so it's not much use to me at home. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the battery. Yes is pretty lame the old one barely got me through the day but the 3Gs is even worse so I have bought a support battery. NOT what I wanted at all! I've been try to cut down on kit to carry. The iPhone liberated me from a mobile phone, iPod AND a PDA but an extra battery is a retrograde step, sorry Apple.

I am now on the Apple iPhone 3GS and had this one on the Orange Network. I had my 3G on the O2 network. They did me a fantastic deal and although I had to pay for my phone, I managed to get the same amount as Bill Credit and I kept my loyalty discount and text bundle for nothing... So for £28 per month, it works out cheaper than 02 plus I now get coverage at home, but patchy in the office.

I love my iPhone. It works well and there are some great apps that I use: some daily, many regularly.
The cons are:
- the cost. But what do you expect from Apple?
- the O2 coverage is variable - not the phone's fault
- the battery life, which is dismal. It's not a big problem for me because 90% of the time I work at client sites with my MacBook Pro able to keep the phone topped up, but for anyone using the iPhone a lot on the move during the day extra juice would be needed.
