“Definitely more confident!”

Written on: 19/05/2013 by threeMs (1 review written)

My 9 year old used to attend a local swim school with up to 8 in a class with the teacher shouting instructions from the side of the pool...which in all honesty, i dont think a child swimming could hear. We switched to Swimming Nature through a recommendation from a friend. Wow! the step up in quality of teaching justified the decision to change. To now have a child that is so confident in swimming the four main strokes and to be so comfortable with the instructor, who always gives total... (read more)

“Fantastic lessons!”

Written on: 12/05/2013 by ah80

I was inspired by the London Olympics to learn to do something I could not previously do - swim! I booked in with Swimming Nature after searching online and booked classes at their Baker Street pool, it was nice to speak to someone at their head office who understood what I wanted to achieve! I booked in for a small block of lessons and was very impressed with the facilities of the venue and the knowledge and care that the teacher demonstrated. If I could not do something he had endless... (read more)

“Beware - Swimming Nature is terrible!!”

Written on: 04/05/2013 by amulka7

All I wanted was to take my baby swimming. Easier said than done. I registered for baby swim classes with Swimming Nature in Hayes for the end of one term and continuing into another. Then the ridiculousness began. The first two classes we were due to attend were cancelled - shortly before the class was due to start and when we were already at the venue. Unbelievably inconvenient. We then attended two more classes before the term break, and at the last class the teacher announced she wasn't... (read more)

“Had to threaten legal action to get money back”

Written on: 04/05/2013

Stay well away, false promises, call-backs not returned, emails not replied to after the pool was freezing and my child got poorly as a result. I was promised the money would be in my account 3 weeks ago, apparently it is still with "a manager" who will not talk to me. They were my best friend until I had a problem then didn't want to know. “Excellent swimming school”

Written on: 26/03/2013

My twin daughters started just after their 3rd birthday. They have completed 2 terms & have come on so far I am astounded at the progress. The course is very well designed to get them confident in all the right positions in the water. They have had 3 instructors already, 2 of which have been absolutely excellent. Overall it's been a very positive experience & I would highly recommend them. (read more)

“Swimming lessons at Swimming Nature, Finchley pool”

Written on: 25/03/2013 by HelenSV (1 review written)

My son (aged 6) has enjoyed learning to swim with Swimming Nature for about 3 terms. The pool in Finchley is lovely. It's well heated and very clean. The tutor gives individual attention and is very friendly. He gives us regular updates on our son's progress. I was surprised to read the negative reviews as our experience has been very good. My children has been learning with swimming nature for the last 2 and a half years and I am very happy with everything. I have never experiance any negative issues and would deffinetly recommend them to anyone who wants their child to learn swimming confidently and well. (read more)

Swimming Nature don't teach like anyone else! They teach your child to swim like an Olympian. When we go on holiday people are very impressed as they can swim very confidently. All the parents at my school sign up and the staff are all good. We have had teacher changes and sometines this is not ideal, although all have been wonderful and so pleasant and teach to a very high standard. I am from US and there everything is competitive and its nice to see a company setting goals for the... (read more)

“Fantastic lesson and facility”

Written on: 15/03/2013 by Kayla82

Just had my first baby lesson at the Hilton on Edgware road yesterday and it was great. The whole experience was made better by the fact the pool is chlorine free. My son and I found the lesson to be fun but constructive. Was a little apprehensive at first because of my son’s history of not enjoying the pool on a recent holiday, but was pleasantly surprised how the lesson went. Experience so far with the service and lesson has been fantastic - cant wait til next week (read more)

“Give it a miss”

Written on: 11/03/2013 by ttench (1 review written)

Swimming Nature at LA Fitness Victoria has been terrible - give it a miss. Other swim schools are so much better. The pool is too cold, you can't watch from beside the pool (they come in and chase you out), the instructors are clueless, and there is no structure/clear lesson plan or progression from week to week. Our 5 month old and 2.5 year old both did lessons and they were both terrible. The company is also disorganised - the first week they changed the class times and never told... (read more)

Written on: 29/01/2013 by Alma20123 (1 review written)

I enrolled my daughter last summer and I liked their way of teaching. Unfortunately they change teachers without letting us know, they don't allow reschedule classes if a child is not able to attend. Classless are very expensive they should at Least let you reschedule if you let them know in advance but they don't. “Poor lessons, have not received promised refund ”

Written on: 19/01/2013

Went to the first class, and decided to cancel. Despite the class being one-on-one, the teaching was horrible, no attempt to engage with the kid, felt like the army. Daughter was all in tears and normally you can't pull her out of the water. I'll better teach my kid to swim myself. Customer service is bewildering, ringed them several time to check on the status of the promised refund. Every time they site a different issue for delay. Still have not seen my money back after 4 months (read more)

Constant teacher changes, last minute cancellations ( one time 10 mins before the start of class), poor communiation with head office, new pupils taking precedence over current, poor English speaking tutors... And my son was no bettervat swimming than when he started. “Swimming nature sucks”

Written on: 24/06/2012 by BMich12 (1 review written)

Our experience at Swimming Nature has been very disappointing. The company sell themselves as a high quality, personal swimming school. Teachers change at a rapid speed which has been very unsettling for our child. They do not give much notice of changes and have not refunded for any classes cancelled by them. We will not be renewing with them and advise anyone to give them a wide berth. The do not deliver what they claim to. (read more)

Written on: 18/05/2011

In the South Kensington location the instructors change without any notice, so as your child is settle in the class suddenly you have a new instructor with a new way to teach so is not fair on the kids and the parents that are paying for expensive lessons that loose continuity just because there is a new teacher. And also the space in the pool is for 3 lessons at the same time. So even the class is for maximum two kids there is a quite a lot of disturbance with the other kids from the other... (read more)

I totally agree that it depends on the quality of instructor. I had my child at Queen Mothers Sports Centre, but was not impressed with the quality of teaching for the price I was paying. Moreover, he wasn't turning up on time, and continually late. However, maybe it was bad luck, and another day I could of got a good coach.

My baby was booked in at Aquilla for the baby swim courses, and I agree the teaching was very poor, and not value for money. The water is warm, but the air temperature... (read more)

I had booked my son in for a term of lessons and have been told a week before it is due to start that the ourse has been cancelled. Very annoying as I am now too late to find an alternative for the Sumer term, but even more annoyingly, having taken my money at time of booking, I have now been told it will take up to 20 orking days for me to be refunded - what a swizz! My son is taught in the Victoria, Queen Mother centre every Saturday. He is now 5 and it is amazing how much he can do. When he first started he did not even go in the water! and now he know's how to float, kick and be confident under the water. I have found the instructor excellent, ensuring he is confident all the way and having fun. The service has been very good I found. I would definately recommend. (read more)

I have to say that my daughter has truly excelled with swimming nature, i am so pleased with her progress she has come such a long way. I have to say that honestly it does depend on the instructor as there is a lack of consistency. The organisation as a whole is very money focussed with endless texts, calls and e-mails however the quality of teaching is second to none and i can understand why my daughters instructor is always fully booked.

I signed up to their baby swimming programme at Aquilla Health Club, Knightsbridge and found the programme poor to say the least. The course was expensive, and I too felt the company is money orientated. Also some of the mums said there was a high turn over of teachers .... it seems the good ones leave for some reason. I was very disappointed with this course, and they didn't offer a... (read more)

I was looking for a class for my then three month old and came across Swimming Nature and thought it looked promising. I went there and was told I could enter my baby and if I did not like it I could cancel as long as I did it within a week, I would however lose 10% of the fee. This I thought sounded fair and I signed up.

I urge parents to read this review and think twice before enrolling with swimming nature. We have been customers for the last two years and we felt since the beginning that the company was really money orientated and not particularly interested in the children's development. However, as we had paid a term in advance we persevered and eventually settled with a teacher who was quite good with my son and helped him with his fear of water. I booked "Swimming Nature" Swimming Classes for my then 3 months old son. After the first session I cancelled the course because I wasn't impressed: All we did was singing songs while carrying/ trawling our babies through the water.
