Good Points: Washes pretty well and is quiet (important with open-plan living!)

Bad Points: Poor reliability and high purchase price makes Smeg pretty bad value-for-money.

General comments: I'm so disappointed with this dishwasher.

To be fair, its performance over the last 3 years has been good, although there have been several occasions where dishes have had to be left in the dishwasher to be re-washed with the next load.
My biggest disappointment, however, was last month when my PCB packed in (a problem that seems to be common with Smeg dishwashers according to other reviews). My engineer spent 5 weeks trying to source replacement parts only to tell me that Smeg parts are notoriously difficult to find in the UK and that my 3 year old machine now has to be scrapped. This was not an inexpensive dishwasher and it has only been used a couple of times a week since it was new.
All my kitchen appliances have been manufactured by Smeg and I really want to recommend the brand - but I simply can't.
Sorry Smeg, but you're going to have to raise the bar by some distance if you want to continue to be thought of as a premium brand charging premium prices.
