I have sold my phone to Mobile Phone EXchange in March 2013, after being promised to be paid GBP 62 pounds. To my surprise, as soon as they received my phone, which was in full working order, they sent me an email with a final price of GBP 10. They sent me lots of pictures that did not look like my phone and mentioned several faults which my phone did not have before it left my residence. After receiving their email, I replied and demanded my phone back. After a few weeks of waiting, nothing... (read more)

Looked for a phone recycling company via a comparison website. Mobile Phoneexchange received good reviews but have since learned that comparison sites often filter the reviews. Read a review website and saw all the bad reviews. My experience was the same: sent phone (Iphone 3GS) which they originally valued at £56, received email to tell me they revalued it at £8 (for all the same reasons other people have said: water damage, excessive scratches, etc). After sending it off I read the reviews and by all accounts had given up hope of ever seeing my phone or any money ever again, perhaps I was one of the lucky ones.
