“WARNING JUST TO MAKE YOU ALL AWARE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Samara1953 on 21/08/2018

I do not intend touching these people with a barge pole. Arrangements were made for a 9.30 visit for an assessment/quotation. We have approx. 195sq metres in the front garden and approx.288 sq metres of land at the back garden.Would of thought this would be quite a lucrative project for Lazylawn. Obviously they thought differently as no one bothered to turn up, no phone call, no email,no apology no nothing. All the more annoying as i had made alternative arrangements in order to accommodate them. I will obviously be taking my business elsewhere.

I am very pleased with the service and work done by Lazylawn. Appointments kept and easy to get in touch with. The lady who answers the phone is cheery and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for her. Very pleased with my small 'ink blot' shaped front lawn laid by competent workers who tried to please. The 'grass' looks good and very realistic.

“Much better all-round compared to Easigrass”

★★★★★

written by BenC_Bucks on 17/08/2016

I actually started with EasiGrass and would have been very happy to handover my money to the Bucks franchise, except for the fact that they were thoroughly incompetent. Initial call led to a polite lady surveying the property and promising a quote within a day or two. Two months later, after many attempts to chase a quote out of them and even a call to their head office (who promised to chase), still nothing. Now I had spent quite a lot of time getting samples from various suppliers and at the time, Easigrass seemed to have the superior product. However, by chance (while waiting for the never to appear quote) I stumbled across LazyLawn. They were very responsive, suggested I visited the demo gardens on show at their A1(M)/M25 show garden and came away very impressed with the product quality. In my view slightly better (Signature version) than the Easigrass Chelsea that we had been considering. But in honesty I would not say there was much difference, both seem high quality product. The difference is that there sales man was accommodating and efficient. From initial contact to installation was less than 3 weeks. The workers were efficient, polite and did a first class job. I'm so pleased with both the customer service, the product, and end result that I felt it was important to leave a review, which is a complete first for me! As for Easigrass, maybe other franchises have got their act together, but I would avoid Bucks (Tendercare Nurseries) with a barge poll.

“No Customer Service.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bmkipling on 26/04/2016

Wrote to lazy lawn to request a quote. They sent me some samples and a piece of paper to draw the space that needed 'lawning.' I dutifully went about measuring the area and sent back a picture of the measurements etc. They said it would be 48hours. No response. Chased. No response. Sent a terse email advising I was not happy. No response. Husband left a review on another site, one email received back asking for details. Details given. NO RESPONSE. There's a theme here. AND THIS IS THEIR PRESALES SERVICE! Speaks volumes about the potential after sales care. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole and I would suggest you avoid too. Shocking.

We also contacted Lazy Lawn - Initial impression was good, the lady we spoke to on the phone was very pleasant and knowledgable. We were told someone would contact us within a couple of days, a week later nothing! I thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt and called once more, again another polite person on the phone, very apologetic and promised we'd receive a call, a week later still nothing - we have decided to give up on them and go with Easigrass.

“BE WARNED!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by hzCarson108 on 16/02/2016

I am disgusted by the quality of work completed and the complete absence of customer service received in light of having our lawn laid at our house. The lawn was laid and resulted in patches forming by both the door step and on main walking path; I contacted the company on multiple occasions - over a dozen emails, 20+ phone calls and still all requests to investigate went unanswered. I compel you to look elsewhere and not receive the shocking treatment we received. The price was such that I expected the comprehensive post-fitting care that was promised - I was wrong... Please do not invest; you run the same risk.

“New back and front lawn”

★★★★★

written by Hollypug on 13/10/2015

Have just had lazylawn suffolk based at red lodge in to do my back and front lawn, well what can i say, fantastic job from start to finish. Was fascinated how they achieved the finished job and took pictures at all the different stages. The attention to detail and asking me throughout the job if I was happy was a really nice touch, Would I recommend YES without a doubt, every time I look out of my windows I am quite lost for words at such a stunning job, I really cannot speak to highly of the two guys that were here. Thank you so very much from a very happy husband and wife and two dogs.

“Fine in winter but melted in summer”

★★☆☆☆

written by Swamp_Donkey on 13/07/2015

We had the lawn installed in December 2014 and the installation was generally ok. They were quick but weren't particularly careful about ensuring the edges were level and there was sand sprayed everywhere which they left for me to clean up. Once installed and cleaned up the lawn looks good and is enjoyably warm to walk upon. The problem occurred during the summer heat of 2015. The lawn was installed in a small West-facing garden fairly close to our house. During a particular hot day the sun has reflected from the rear window onto the lawn and melted a patch of it. At no point during installation was it mentioned that the reflection from a window could melt the grass but during a recent call with LazyLawn then apparently windows are the same as mirrors when it comes to the guarantee. As a result, LazyLawn say that it's not covered by the warranty as, presumably, I should have known the reflection from a window could melt the lawn. I asked if they wouldn't mind repairing the patch that has melted this time and I'll cover the grass on hot days in future but they weren't interested. Overall, the lawn is nice but if you happen to have windows which face the afternoon sun and your lawn is anywhere near those windows then you might want to think again or just accept your lawn may melt.

Lazy lawn Hi Lak - Just wanted to say a big thank you for your great customer service. Friendly, likeable and no pressure. My garden looks absolutely beautiful now (after the disastrous weed killing episode). I can't stop looking at it. Had all the neighbours over to see it AND I wouldn't be surprised if you get some orders! Thanks again Lak.

“My Dog loves it!”

★★★★★

written by Daniar15 on 26/01/2015

After struggling for years with my dog, my lawn was full of dead spots and holes which the dog would dig up every now and then i decided i had two choices, either get rid of the dog or get an artificial lawn! After a crying session from the kids i decided to just replace the lawn! After requesting samples from many different company’s i settled with wonder yarn from LazyLawn. Due to it being summer i did however have to wait to get the lawn installed as i was told the team where extremely busy! After 4 weeks my lawn was transformed and now I’m able to just focus on my borders and plants rather than having the never ending battle with my dog to keep the lawn green! Thanks for the transformation!

“Unacceptable product and installation”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 22/01/2015

Unacceptable!!! My Wife purchased a lawn for her disabled Mother from Lazy Lawn, on the promise that the product was perfect for dog owners. It has been 6 years of continuous trouble with multiple attempts to resolve the issues. Four months after the latest complaint; we finally had a visit from Lazy Lawn’s owner and colleague for a site inspection, with view to inspect the sub-layer. The main complaint being a possible drainage issue causing a repulsive smell in the summer, as well as a black substance is now visible on the surface of the grass. The smell attracts flies filling the house and leaving her unable to open windows or the patio doors. A sub layer and lawn inspection was requested again last year and it has taken four months to arrange, in the middle of winter, (despite it being a known summer issue) only to take photographs. We greeted them politely and were immediately faced with the owner’s aggressive and obstructive attitude. He continuously raised his voice, to the point where I   had to ask him to lower it. We have followed all care/maintenance instructions, including the annual ‘infills’, at additional cost carried out by Lazy Lawn,  the owner has subsequently told us were unnecessary. What is the point of spending thousands of pounds on a lawn “perfect for a dog owners” only to have the owner shout at your Wife “If you allow your dog to #### in the garden and use it as a toilet, what do you expect”. The lawn is extremely well maintained, but has a clear drainage issue. It does not smell of urine. His attitude was shocking, as he was aware of all issues and was sent extensive photographs prior to his visit. At least the owner gave us some advice before he stormed off... “Go to a solicitor and see what they have to say about it” Thanks, we will do just that and I am sure Watchdog / Rogue Traders will be a good step directly thereafter.

“Lazylawn Reviews”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 249Arsenault on 01/09/2014

Looking at the Lazylawn Reviews over a period of 49 months you will see that they have 111 reviews - of which 101 of these reviews were posted over an 8 month period meaning that the other 10 reviews were spread across 41 months? How can this be ? let me explain as an EX-Lazylawn Licensee we were instructed by HQ to write/post our own reviews and have our friends and family do the same in an attempt to make the company look GOOD! But as can be seen by the other reviews the company is being shown in a very poor light - be careful of this company if there is a problem with a Licensee they like to distance themselves as much as possible and also request that you deal with Head Office through them direct and not through any other mediums ie like this independent site!

Had our local lazy lawn team (Nantwich , Cheshire] , for a quote . The husband and wife involved were both really professional and helpful , without being pushy . All my questions were answered and we went ahead , a decision we are delighted with.We paid Lazy Lawn to install , and a great deal of effort was put into preparing the ground-we have clay soil ! Even installed a new concrete post for clothes dryer and a wooden edging at one side . Really impressed Lawn is lovely-we had the short version of wonder yawn . , and we are now enjoying our garden so much more .

“Say what?”

written by Ggggarden on 22/05/2014

Received unrealistic quote of £8.6k for a small garden that is approx 40 - 50 sq m. (New build). The quote stated 'quite a large project- 115.8 sq m.' Queried but received a reply that the quote is 100% correct and that 'our (lazy lawn) average garden is 25 sq m.' Disappointed.

“Be Careful”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Harvey1973 on 11/04/2014

Having waited a long time to save up to pay for the purchase and installation of their grass product, the problem with this company is that they have franchised installers, who after inspecting and giving a quotation and my wife and I agreeing and signing the contact, the person then asked us to pay up front a large deposit, which was the last time we saw either the grass/ installer or our money, contacting the company only to be told they had sack him for being a rouge, but don't worry they have a new installer and I could get a new quote from him, I did contact this person not because I intended to use him or the company but just to see if they operated in the same manner. The guy already was aware of the last rouge and said he would call at the end of the week on Friday, Friday came and went, I carried on with the court case to try and retrieve my deposit, some months latter out of the blue a call from the second installer to call round no mention of the broken date, gave a quote knocking off the some I lost but was over twice the first quote, needless to say I have not engaged this company

Dear Harvey1973,

We are sorry to hear of your experience.

Obviously we do not have all the facts here, so we would advise you to contact a member of the LazyLawn head office management team to talk through this review in more detail as they will be able to assist you further as there are some concerning points here that need greater discussion and legal consideration.

Just to clarify, LazyLawn do not operate a franchise, but a license. The licenses are operated by independent companies. These companies are screened and vetted and constant improvements to our processes are being introduced to keep any instance such as this to an absolute minimum.

The LazyLawn brand will not tolerate poor standards and have worked hard over 28 years to maintain an exemplary record.

There must be procedures that are taken in the first instance:

Step 1 - Write to the licensee company and notify head office, Step 2 - If any fraudulent behaviour has taken place the police should be notified of the independent company in question and Step 3 - Liaise with the head office to satisfactory conclusion.

LazyLawn will do their utmost to support you in this matter.

“beware of company approved installer quotes”

★★★☆☆

written by on 10/11/2013

the lawn itself lovely the approved installer quoted 38 mtrs husband queried this as old grass lawn only took 30mtrs told so it can be laid in one piece we said no as on his quote he had quoted for sealing and joining tape also he never asked did we want a join which would make the job £200 POUNDS CHEAPER also when he came to quote before stating price asked how I intended to pay when I asked is that revelant at this stage he said yes if you pay cash can take the vat off to me now he had shown a dishonest side so told head office would not have him felt he might cut corners where he can .head office came to fit it rather than lose a sale first class job but feel as long as the work comes in head office are not too concerned yet really he is cheating them a few metres over quoted here and there and he is making a nice side earner.I am moving soon and will have again but will be double checking measurements after this saga I doubt if printed as my last review was not which is not honest should print the good and the bad.

“Terrible after sales service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 30/08/2013

Two years after having my lawn fit at a cost of thousands of pounds it was unfortunately damaged in a small area due to burning when a hedge cutter which had become heated after use was left on it. I immediately phoned my installer who initially said he would repair it. However after more phone calls it became obvious he was unwilling to help. I made phone calls to head office but they too were extremely unhelpful. I felt very angry and let down. So I persisted with my request and eventually it was passed on to an installer from a different area. He has been most helpful and yesterday came to repair it. He has made a good job which took not much over an hour to do. I paid him £180 which he charged for his fuel and time. He used an off cut so there was no grass to buy. After the money I paid to have the.job done in the first place and the profit which must have been made I feel the least my original installer could have done was to come and do the job himself without all the hassle I have had to go through. I would have paid him but as a goodwill gesture I'm sure he could have offered to do it for just the cost of his fuel. He was keen enough to travel to do the job in the first place! I must admit he made a good job of installation but his after sales service and that of the company needs to be improved.

“Non existent customer service for faulty lawn”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Testingtimes on 13/08/2013

I am now several months into complaining to Lazylawn about their product. The pile is facing the wrong way on most of the area or is flat in others. The installer (Lazylawn) revisited and mechanically brushed the lawn and confirmed it was faulty. The director I spoke to said they would sort the problem, and the next step was to arrange a HO visit to inspect and take photos. That is months ago now and phone calls and emails from me get ignored. My only option is to sue them, or stick with a lawn that is either shiny, flat or bent the wrong way. Stay away at all costs !!!

Update to review.

One week after posting this review I was contacted by Lazylawn H/O to arrange an official inspection. This was carried out promptly and confirmed the lawn was faulty, and they would replace the lawn.Since then all has gone smoothly and the new lawn has been installed and looks great. A happy ending for me, even though it took a lot of effort to get things moving

I have been having a similar problem. Shortly after installation I noticed three areas in which the 'pile' was not laying correctly and looked odd (lighter than the rest of the lawn). I emailed HQ and the installer three times. Eventually I said I would phone and then got an email. A guy from Lazylawn came to inspect and agreed it was not right. Later I spoke to the installer who said he would send ina report. Since then - nothing. Emails are ignored.

“Wrong lawn”

★★★☆☆

written by on 07/05/2013

The installers were excellent however the lawn provided was not the same as the samples they had provided. The installers showed the label on the lawn roll matched the lawn type I'd requested, but I made them measure it, and it was clearly shorter and of inferior quality. They didn't argue about replacing it with the correct material, but I did have to wait a couple of days as it was out of stock! I've ended up with a beautiful lawn well installed, however my tip would be to compare what they install with the sample you've agreed to buy as labels can get "mixed up"!
