Absolute rubbish. Waited 8 moths for a delivery and was kept being put off. Got our furniture today from somewhere else after only ordering last week! Would NEVER go to Furniture Barn again!!

“Poor service”

I wish we had read reviews before shopping at furniture barn. We had previously purchased an item in their clearance sale so thought it would be ok. We found an item of furniture which was what we had been looking for. The sales assistant checked on the computer and informed us it would be in stock on the 17th April. She told us if we ordered it we would have it within 2 weeks. We went home to measure up and double check and then phoned to order, speaking to the same sales assistant. After 2 weeks we had not received the promised phone call so we contacted them to see what was happening. My husband was told that it was not expected in stock until the end of May !! I phoned and spoke to the original assistant again who confirmed that this was correct. I told her that was unacceptable and asked if we could purchase the one in the show room. She replied that she didn't have the authority to authorise that and it wasn't something they usually allow. I informed her that if I couldn't have the one in store I would be down the next day to cancel and get a refund. She told me I wouldn't be able to get a refund because the next day was Sunday and there wasn't anyone working who could do a refund. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me he wasn't in. I suggested she could contact him by phone and she told me he was on holiday. After much insistence from me she said she would try to contact someone. After a number of calls I finally got a call from the manager, who wasn't on holiday at all, he was at their store in Derby. He eventually authorised it for us to purchase the one in store. What a shambles the customer service is at this shop. The sales staff clearly wouldn't know the truth if it smacked them in the face ! My advice to any potential customers..... go somewhere else. It's really not worth the hassle.

“Utterly Awful!!”

Ordered in January sales (nearly £1000 worth of furniture and and still had to pay for delivery!!) to be told its a common range and will be available to deliver on the 24th Feb. That came and gone, I called up and they said its not in the country and will be delivered 24th March. That went and I had to call again to be told it's still not in the country!! Finally arrived (well over the min. 12 weeks delivery) and found the tv stand too small and looked silly. Called the store to ask to swap it for the bigger size (and I'd pay the extra) to be told I'd have to pay 35% on top due to be ordering in store and not online (??) for returning an item - which they don't tell you in the store. The Grantham manager is lovely in store when selling you something but something else when he has your money!! Never using again and will never recommend. Never had such awful service, I've never written an online review but I'm so fuming I'm actually taking time to warn people to NOT USE FURNITURE BARN!!

“Bad customer service”

Ordered a table on Thursday was told l would be rung on Friday to arrange delivery. Still had no call by the following Friday so rang them. The wrong table was delivered on Saturday, the management was made a where of the error by the delivery men but they were told to deliver it anyway. Having had bad delivery experience before was told 4 to 6 weeks actually delivery 12 weeks, canceled order for table. Still trying to get my money back being told it will come from head office, told by customer service at head office no manager in the office fro 3 days. so over all it will take me over a month to get money back.

“Terrible customer service. Order still not received. ”

Ordered dining table and 4 chairs early January and was told they would be delivered mid February. Delivery date was arranged and I took the day off work. Received a call from distribution centre the day before delivery and was told the chairs had not been sent by the supplier. The table was still delivered and we were promised a call from the distribution centre about the chairs. Did not receive a call for a couple of days so I called the distribution centre. Was told by someone that they would look into it and ring back. Received an email saying they would look into loan chairs and they would ring as soon as something was sorted. Did not receive any call back and called several times to be told that either the person dealing with it was not there or the dept was closed. I went to the store and spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and called the distribution centre and said he would look into it. He spoke to someone while I was there and asked what was happening. He then said the chairs would be towards the end of March and that he would arrange for some temporary chairs. He said he would call back the following day to let me know what had been sorted out. That was last week and I am still waiting! I will be going back to the store this weekend and if this is not resolved I will be cancelling my order. Customer service is non existent and I will not be ordering anything from them in future.

Absolutely over the moon with furniture barns service politeness expertises and the suites we have bought are of the upmost quality i admit i was abit dubious with all this closing down talk but the team were friendly and helpful and having a little 3yr running around whilst helping me is testing but no problem for them excellent customer service impeccable manners and fantastic quality im over the moon furniture barn youve made my house a home ♥♥♥ welldone only 1 constructive feedback advertise more get your brand noticed flyers? “Worst experience ever!”

Do not use this company as their after sales service is appalling. This company has recently been taken over and we've been trying to return a damaged wardrobe and bedside table for weeks. When trying to contact them calls are never answered, messages never returned and no response to emails. We certainly wouldn't use this company again.

“Crappy Chinese Chairs”

My wife and I bought eight antique dark leather high back chairs costing £760.00 We have had them 20 months when we started to notice that the coating on the leather was starting to crack, we took one over to the shop where we were going to show them the problem, they insisted that they didn't need to look at the chair and that they would sort it out. How wrong we were to trust them, the manufactures said it could be excessive use, strong cleaners, or pets and even said that they had issues with this product. Then they told me the old company had gone into admiastration and could do nothing about it, but did say we could buy replacements at half the price, why on earth would I part with my hard earned money to buy this rubbishy again, shop at Furniture Barn at your peril.

“Not received item”

After ordering I got an email to say item is in stock and will be with me shortly. A couple of weeks later I had heard nothing. I phoned and was told they will look into it and call me back, but again I heard nothing. I have now phoned again and have been told it will be sent out. I am not holding my breath. Stay away from this company.

“Financially irregular”

Be aware that this company is now a phoenix company as the original Furniture Barn can no longer meet its financial obligations. I am aware that orders have been taken without the ability to fulfil and then customers told to claim the loss from their card providers (as long as its a credit card you have protection none for charge or debit). I strongly advise if you wish to purchase you collect in person on the day and only from held stock, do not place orders you will be bitten.

“Never use this company!! Worst experience I have ever had!”

Ordered originally as great price, website stated all items in stock and delivery before Christmas, I ordered in November! When ordering the website does not allow you to select a delivery date like other company's I have ordered from before. I emailed to inform them I had a week off in a couple of weeks time so please could they arrange delivery then, no reply. I tried calling and no-one ever answered so I left voice messages and emails. Finally I got through towards the end of my week off and they said due to bad weather up north they were not ready to deliver yet so they took a note that once ready please deliver on the next available Saturday. I heard nothing for a while, finally they wanted to deliver but I was then told they did not deliver on Saturdays!!!! They could only deliver on 23rd December which I could not do so I ask for a refund, I was told they were in administration so would have to email. I emailed and recieved a reply stating it would be looked into but I probably wouldn't get a refund as the items were in stock and it was me that could not make the delivery not them!! Then got another phone call to arrange a delivery? Strange?! So took the delivery as was worried about getting money back, arranged for a family member to wait in while I would be at work at great inconvenience to them as they had to rearrange appointments etc around the delivery. Then we get another phone call, items are not in stock so they can't deliver?! After 6weeks we are now in January & they still don't have the items. So I asked again for a refund to be emailed later saying that I needed to email to request a refund because they don't have it in their system that I ever requested a refund? I have forwarded the original refund request emails again to them & requested a refund again! After having my money for nearly 2months I have no items and no refund still! Never use them, they are quick enough to take your money but will not give it back! They are rude, unorganised, staff do not communicate to each other let alone to you & they do not follow the usual customer service policy of the customer is always right. All I can say is I am not surprised they are in administration & I am glad they are, hopefully they go under & no-one has to use them again.

“Nails sticking out of chairs!”

We ordered a table and six chairs from the furniture barn - I would avoid them at all costs if I were you. When the items were delivered, they were damaged, and there were nails left sticking out of the chairs. We called them and they agreed to re-deliver, we were told that the items would this time be checked before they were delivered to us. The second delivery came, and again, the items were of the same standard - chipped, cracked and dented. Not to mention the chairs didn't sit level and the seat covers were ripped. We called again and spoke to a different manager who assured us that he would get the warehouse staff to check the items this time (the shop staff seem to blame the warehouse staff a lot instead of taking ownership of the problem) - when it was delivered the third time; the table was broken! I'm pretty sure they hadn't been checked again..! This seems like the norm for the furniture barn as they did not seem bothered in the slightest with the upset and inconvenience they had caused us - three days off work for nothing. We got out money back and have had to go elsewhere.

Your lucky you got your money back they have £500 of mine & im left with a cracked Rockhampton dining table , they have tried twice to replace it but both were also damaged , no refund & now they won't answer the phone or reply to emails

I think I was on the phone to them while the delivery men were here and wouldn't let them leave until I saw the money back in my account. They can't get away with it. Have you contacted your credit card company too if you paid by credit card? I really really hope that you manage to get your refund, it's terrible that they think they can take our hard earned money!

Terrible service. Been waiting 10weeks for a clock and have now asked for a refund. two clocks delivered have been damaged. Numerous times I have been to the store to be told it would be delivered next week. Last week I was told they had no delivery and it would definitely be here today, today they tell me everything has been delivered except my item. When I asked the manager for a refund her attitude was very poor, no apology or explanation, she barely managed to be civil.

“value and service”

I have purchased from Lakeside, what a beautiful store. I went round 3 times before i settled on my furniture. The sales lady made me( A BREW) a coffee whilst we measured up the solid oak sideboards, they had so many to choose from. So many different designs both light and medium oak. I almost purchased a New Panted Range which i could choose from 191 colours........fantastic choice. They even have stock to take away!

“Quality and head office customer service is awful. ”

Disgusted with Furniture Barn- my 2 month old bed collapsed due to utterly pathetic fixings holding it together. This meant me having to replace tiny screws with my own (3x longer than the originals!) at midnight with a screaming 3 month old child who was woken by the crash. Furniture barns head office response to my complaint: if I buy anything else from them, they'll give me free delivery and a free pot of wax. Utterly ridiculous. Clearly the quality is questionable and customers aren't valued once the money has been exchanged. Avoid If you can.

I have exactly the same issue with one of their bedsteads too!! It's eight months old and the centre strutt has collapsed for a second time tonight. Went to try a mend myself and when I got under the bed the strutt leg has completely broken. Dreading ringing the store as I got passed from pillar to post when I had to get it replaced first time, the bedstead was 400 quid, the mattress was 600. I now have a £1000 bed I can't use!!

I have emailed customer r services, but I bet they don't get in touch.

I want it replaced. I have had enough. But what's the chances of that happening now??

All I can say is good luck to you and I hope you have more joy than I did. i never received any comeback from them following the above issue.

The thing is, things do go wrong sometimes, but how a company deals with an issue makes all the difference. The furniture barn behaviour was appalling in my case, and that upset me more than the poor quality furniture!
