    Good Points: Good looks inside and out. The 2.0 diesel engine is lively and economical


    Bad Points: Gear change is poor and feels gritty but worst of all is the level of engine noise in the cabin is unacceptable when the engine is under load. In this respect it falls well short of the standards expected from a car pitched at this level and at this cost.


    General comments: This Toyota 2009 Avensis Tourer 2.0 was designed to compete with other makes and although it looks the part - it falls well short of the quality it should be for a cost of c. £20k
