“Wrong bed delivered”

Ordered a black bed online. Just before we unpacked it we noticed that the boxes stated 'brown bed'. I telephoned Bedroom World and was told that i must have used the wrong dropdown on the website and ordered the brown bed by mistake although our confirmation clearly showed that we'd ordered a black one. We were told that they would have to collect the brown bed the next day (Friday) then refund us and order the black bed which they could only deliver on the Saturday. By mid afternoon on the Friday no-one had collected the brown bed, I telephoned and was told ey would definitely collect the bed today. I checked that we definitely had the black bed ordered for Saturday and was told yes. By 6pm Friday still no collection. I telephoned again and was told that they don't deliver/collect in our area on Fridays! They confirmed they would collect on the Saturday instead. Again i checked that we definitely had the black bed ordered and was told no another brown bed had been ordered !!! They have now confirmed that they can stop the delivery of the 2nd brown bed, collect the 1st brown bed tomorrow and the earliest they can deliver the black bed is next Tuesday!! Lets see what will happen. Not happy!

“Flimsy rubbish”

Ordered new Buckingham 800 divan and head board. No problems with delivery or headboard but mattress is much firmer than expected and had dirty finger marks on it inside wrapping. Divan base is appallingly shoddy. Ordered two drawers, one broken and jammed when arrived. Packaging intact so must have left factory/warehouse in that state.

“delivery not made on date arranged”

doubled checked deliver would be on Friday with customer services who confirmed. got email m8d morning of delivery day to say bed has been sent elsewhere and won't be with me till Monday. they also said they had tried to ring me and I had no voicemail facility. complete lie as no calls received and I had voicemail facility. called to complain they first denied delivery had been changed then they agreed yes it is now Monday. told them I had took day off and old bed at tip so what am I expected to do. they said they can give me a good will gesture of 10% like that's covering another day off and alternative sleeping arrangements. terrible way to run a business.

Tell me about it i had my bed changed 3 times and still in bad condition thats why i will never shop from anywhere that sounds to good to be true stick to the high street retailers might be a few hundred extra but worth the hassle free

“Bedroom World shoddy products and service”

If you're buying a bed do NOT buy it from bedroom world. We ordered one back in Jan as seemed a really good deal however the medium firm mattress has got diets where we've been sleeping. Rang up for a different enquiry and mentioned this they told me to speak to their suppliers as I have a five year warranty... I happily rang them only to be told that I wasn't covered by their 1 year warranty as they only covered their customers, I was a third party so I rang bedroom world back (30 minutes if queuing and this time not being hung up on) I was told due to health and safety I couldn't return the mattress - we'd slept on it. I asked to speak to a manager, she put me on hold. Came back asking for photos of the mattress which I sent over whilst she was in the line and she confirmed we could have a new mattress. They arranged a delivery date of today... One for delivering the new mattress the second for collection of the old one. I spent about 2 hours trying to rearrange delivery. First time I rang (in the morning) I was told he'd email the courier however couldn't ring as they were busy... When I tried to ring at 5 as I hadn't heard from them the three times I rang before six someone would answer however not speak which was highly frustrating especially when you could hear a woman saying "take a call, just take a call" when I got home from a great day out hubby advised me he had received a text 1756 confirming the mattress would be delivered today. Sure enough, here it is. Now I just have to wait for the blessed collection of the old one. Think Argos have better mattresses better still the shop on Lloyd st south and great Western street in Rusholme have better mattresses so will probably go there from now on. Be warned! The online world of bedroom world or world stores is a joke!

“Incorrect fixings”

Ordered a bed from Bedroom World, then read the reviews! Should have done the other way around obviously. Arranged to have it delivered today but received no comfirmation by e-mail or text as promised in the initial e-mail. I was getting a little concerned so rang this morning. On hold for about 15 mins, when I got to speak to someone was told she'd have to check with courier and ring me back, which to be fair she did pretty quickly. It did arrive today as arranged but there were a few dents in the metal bedframe, but not in too obvious places. Also half the bolts were the wrong size. 20mm rather than 40mm. I didn't have time to complain and wait to see if they provided replacements as I needed the bed asap, so went out and bought the correct size bolts. If it hadn't been so urgent I would have complained but because of this I am unable to comment on how they would have dealt with this. It was not an expensive bed but missed/damaged parts is not good service. Please read these reviews before placing your order.

“wardrobe eventually arrived”

item was not delivered on said day, arrived 4 days late. The bottom part had no pre drilled holes for the legs, the rail had no pre drilled holes and all the 6 hinges had no pre drilled holes. The right door is slightly warped. Apart from that the wardrobe is nice to look at and once assembled is quite sturdy. Was not happy with the staff as they did not know what they were doing as got different info every time regarding delivery etc. When i asked why the item was late no one could give me a reason. One upside was that they reimbursed my delivery charge and one of the managers contacted me and was very apologetic. The wardrobe is good value for money

“Think TWICE before buying online a bed from Bedroom World”

End July I ordered online the Blenheim Ortho Divan Bed. The delivery arrived a week later than the agreed date. The mattress was badly damaged, as was the bed frame. We complained and after another week a new delivery arrived. The new bed + mattress were also damaged. Both! The delivery man was due to pick up the first damaged bed, but he was so annoyed that we refused the second (also damaged bed) that they left without making the pick-up. We then asked the customer service what is the probability that a third delivery will again arrive damaged, and the answer was: "50-50" (!) No joke! We decided to buy the bed from another company and ask our money back. I asked for the cost to be reimbursed, but this could not happen until the damaged bed was picked up. This happened 10 days and several phone calls later. We still didn't get our money back!

“Still waiting”

Well I can't say what the mattress is like because it hasn't arrived, placed an order Wednesday to be delivered fri, got the bed frame no mattress,asked to cancel it but got told by the advisor if I could wait till next day they would pay for my item to be delivered free of charge the next morning,I agreed this only because I thought it would arrive today, NO it hasn't, rung the shop only to be told customer services are closed till Monday and the people answering the phones today are not qualified in computers and can't tell me where the mattress is,so today yet again my grandson is sleeping on the floor,when I told them I had already got rid of his bed they said I should have waited till the new one was here, yet when they texted you saying your bed will be here within an hour,surely you need to take the other one out and dispose of it, well I hope they have a good reason Monday morning where it is and offer the delivery charge back, which I very much doubt

“Uninterested in my complaint about faulty goods”

Despite a good prompt delivery of my items I found that one part of the Modena bed frame was damaged. I unpacked the items straight after delivery found the damaged item and notified BedroomWorld of the problem along with photographs using their link on the website. I received an automated reply to which I added further comments and received yet another automated reply. Tried telephoning the following day but no luck as the lines were all busy so sent yet another email to which I got a cursory "our team are looking into it" reply. Very quick to take the money and supply the goods but seemingly un interested in dealing with a problem in a speedy fashion. Yet to find out if my problem will be resolved. The bed was fairly cheap but is worthless if incomplete due to the damaged item.

This is not an uncommon problem... I have spent most of the day trying to find out where my delivery is... But as has been written many times before... No answer in the customer care line and sales li e which is always answered immediately can't help, transfer u, look into ur order nothing... Instead of spending ur times looking online at ur awful reviews... Why don't u put the time into sorting out the care of customers .... This customer care line doesn't get answered ... Ur company is a joke!

Did get a response from customer services eventually and promised a part to replace the damaged item. Now been more than a week and still unable to assemble the bed. Funny how an almost complete bed can be delivered in a couple of days but you have to wait much longer for replacement parts. Still can't use the bed

“Appalling delivery service, courier company a disgrace.”

Ordered a Universal divan base on the morning of Tuesday 11th March and arranged for 'guaranteed' Thursday 13th delivery. Took the day off work on the 13th to await delivery but by 16.00hrs the bed had not arrived. Tracking information showed it had arrived at courier's main hub on the Wednesday. Phoned Bedroom World to enquire why the bed had not been delivered and to express my annoyance at wasting a day's holiday from work. Male customer services person confirmed I would not get the bed on correct day and laid the blame solely with the courier. He promised to sort out the problem and call me early Friday morning, with delivery expected for that day. Contact with XDP Couriers is only by email, it's so frustrating that one cannot talk to them directly. Finally got a reply to my email of complaint at 17.15 hrs from the Reading branch of the courier, my local depot. This informed me that they had not received my goods from their main hub.....I already knew this from the tracking information ! After sending another email the response was that if the bed arrived overnight Thursday/Friday at Reading, it would be delivered Friday. I suppose I was not surprised to hear from Reading on Friday morning to say that the bed had not arrived. It was obviously still sitting at the main depot and tracking confirmed this. After politely expressing my frustration and anger to XDP at Reading again by email, the manager stated he hoped my goods would now arrive overnight Friday/Saturday. If this occurred he assured me delivery on the Saturday, otherwise I would have to wait till Monday 17th. In the meantime I did not receive a return call from Bedroom World customer services on the Friday morning, as I had been promised. Thankfully the bed did arrive at 11.30hrs on Saturday morning. If anybody makes a purchase from Bedroom World it is obvious from my experience and that of other people, the arranged delivery date is meaningless. For the sake of their reputation, Bedroom World need to terminate XDP as their courier. Their performance and attitude is awful, they have little thought for the public they are dealing with. I certainly will not make future purchases from any company that is using XDP to deliver goods, I will always check before confirming the transaction.

“Some products did not turn up”

I had ordered 2 beds and 2 mattresses with delivery on yesterday. Ordering was easy, beds arrived within the timeframe I was allocated. However, the mattresses have not arrived yesterday. Nobody called or emailed to say that they will not arrive. I called Bedroomworld today, their customer services team does not work on Saturdays, and I can't get through to the delivery company. I don't know if they will arrive on the weekend or not. I can't put up the beds yet as I haven't got the mattresses, so I am hoping they are OK. I hope they'll turn up eventually.

“Poor Customer Service”

I Ordered an Ottoman bed and Mattress on Wednesday 27th Nov and decided not to opt for the next day delivery and went for the Friday. I arranged for somebody to be in to take delivery. When I got home the bedframe had arrived but no mattress. Called customer services and queued for 20 mins. once through I was told the mattress was late getting to the delivery depot and would not arrive till monday !!! My son had to sleep on his bedroom floor all weekend. To top it off the base floor of the bed was missing along with the lifting strap. Sent a complaint in on the friday but as yet I have heard nothing back. wrote a review on their website but it seems they only show the good feedback. Put me off ever ordering anything from this company again.!!!!

“Unable to contact!”

I ordered a Bedmaster Memory Comfort Divan Bed Kingsize-2 Drawers and a Vienna Headboard Kingsize. The delivery was very quick as I ordered on the Friday and it was delivered the following Monday. However I had no notification email confirming delivery, so I took a chance and took the day off anyway. When I took delivery, I noticed the package for the headboard looked rather small which I pointed out to the delivery person. He assured me that it was a Kingsize headboard as it had the the Kingsize box ticked on the packaging. However when the package was opened it was a double headboard, with one of the wood attachments missing. So not only was it the wrong item, it was also faulty. I have how sent several emails trying to chase this up, and I have been constantly ringing for the past three days but nobody ever answers the calls! I did get through to the sales team, who assured me I would receive a call back from the after sales department. I am still waiting! The after sales service is appalling. I have now contacted my credit card company from who I purchased the items on line, to lodge a dispute for the payment. I am happy with the bed that I purchased, but I am disgusted with the lack of customer care, and would avoid using Bedroomworld in future.

Since I submitted the comment I have had a response and a re-delivery time scheduled, but as you can appreciate i have to have another day off to take the delivery. The frustrating thing is the lack of contact...I tried so many times to call but with never any response. My order number is BTW174913. I have contacted the website several times. As you can appreciate, this was a large purchase for us and we wanted to see the bed and the headboard together. I have no problem with the bed, or the delivery time. Very quick. “Superking bed”

Ordered a Superking Classic Sleigh bed and Myers Back Care Mattress as a bundle on 28th April, bed arrived on Tuesday 30th April. BUT Mattress has still not arrived to date 3 May and have been told by delivery it will be another 4 days before delivery. It state on web site that next day delivery or pick a delivery date, why! have this if you cannot depend on it. Still without mattress and when I spoke to them I was told that it would be delivered on Friday and the person I dealt with said she would ring me Friday morning to make sure that everything ok DID NOT ring and at 6.45pm still waiting will not be using them again. If I had not paid or payment did not go through I could understand the delay But once again a case of got my money dont care It should state that for certain orders there would be a delay But nothing is mentioned on the site

“beds and matresses”

We ordered 2 wooden bed bases which were OK, but we also ordered 2 matresses which cost £100 each and they are almost useless. OK for small children but useless for older ones or adults. Really feel as though we have been robbed.

We bought a super king bed and mattress off them, The bed came within 10 days but had to wait a further 2 days for the mattress, but that was only because it needed 2/3 people to carry it as it was a super king mattress, we have had no trouble with the bed or the mattress, and we have had it for almost a year. hope this helps.

My experience of them and the quality of their beds supplied to me I would never purchase anything from them again. I would never recommend them to anyone. I may have been unlucky looking at the other responses to your question but I will not be dealing with them again.

I ordered a double bed, when it arrived it was unusable as the slats kept collapsing. It took several weeks to get in touch with the company and get the problem sorted. When I'd eventually spoken to them on several occasions they agreed to pick up the faulty item but never showed up, delaying my refund further. Also I was annoyed to find that I had £20 worth of premium rate phone calls to the customer service number, and calls that were never answered had cost me money. They do this by a machine answering your call and saying stay on the line, then it rings for 10 minutes and cuts off. Somehow they charge you for your call from the time the machine answers even though its ringing. So it's up to you if you take a chance with this company, but if something goes wrong with your order you'll be in for a rough time

I bought a very reasonably priced bed and mattress from them on a next day delivery and to my surprise they actually turned up the next day and are really very good for the price. Would use again

The quality of their products is good but their customer service let them down.
