“An absolute joke. Was told it would cost me £40 plus...”

Written on: 18/06/2014 by Nathen477 (1 review written)

An absolute joke. Was told it would cost me £40 plus 5% of the hammer price to sell my car. They told me that it sold for its reserve price of £200 (I only have their word for that), so I was expecting a cheque for £150. After waiting for the payment for over 2 weeks, I went there myself, only to find that they had taken £40 "commission", £33.33 "entry fee", plus £14.67 "vat on charges", leaving me with the princely sum of £112. If you are selling your car, stick it on Gumtree. Don' go… Read Full Review

“Buyer beware, its not a level playing field.”

Written on: 27/05/2014 by McDanielzw471 (1 review written)

'Buyer beware'? From my experience you will be relieved of your hard earned cash. Whether a buyer or seller, unless you are in the 'click' the odds are stacked against you. As others have stated you will be presented with a sifted car stock which has already been scrutinised by members of the ‘click’ who are allowed to inspect and test drive vehicles. This opportunity is not given to the normal buyers who in most cases find out they have bought a ‘lemon’ on their way home after parting… Read Full Review

“Unhelpful unfriendly rude "we are better than you"...”

Written on: 16/09/2013 by timnicebutdim2013 (1 review written)

Have to agree with all the other comments, if you are in their old boys club IE a trader who spends thousands with them every week, you would probably get good service and be on first name terms, but for everyone else, forget it. Wouldnt ever travel to this place again. If you like being treated like a piece of dog poo, then you will love this company, if however, you believe in this day and age, the customer expect some level of courtesy, then this is not the place for you… Read Full Review

“Would have to agree with comments”

Written on: 03/10/2012

Not impressed with the staff at Mallusk. My opionion for whats it worth -- auction staff have a haughty attitude when dealing with customers. Perhaps a course in "dealing with customers courteously" would help- and start from the top down! Buying cars from fleet auctions big risk - little if no comeback "sold as seen" Mobility cars - these cars are last in the food chain when the arrive at Wilsons, i.e. the original person leasing doesn't want it, the dealer where the car was leased from… Read Full Review

Got a great bargin, well below what you would pay at a car dealer, friendly staff, great service. Lots of bargins to be had there, was worried as i had not bought at auction before but once i read the buyers guides available it gave me more confidence on what i was doing. It explains why cars have mileage not checked (owners preference) explained any additional fees, what test drive and no test drive ment etc. Will be going there again for my next car… Read Full Review

Extremely poor customer service. Had issue with a lack of security with the lots bought during and after the auction.

Found the Auctioneer has having an exaggerated sense of his own importance and exhibiting no courtesy.

beware wilsons car auctions,,car traders frequently drive these cars before they go through sales, choosing to buy the rare good cars and leaving the rest to be sold to the public,,indeed mallusk buy the good stock themselves and sell them through their dept called reroute...this place is known by the trade to be full of clocked mileage adjusted cars..with wilsons hiding behind a rule the made up of their own accord,,miles unchecked,,no such thing folks....no joke the place is a cespit and you… Read Full Review

Desperately unfriendly staff. No customer care training at all. No competition in Northern Ireland so a cavalier attitude prevails. Wilsons Auctions Warranty as useful s a chocolate kettle. Fast movement of cars - as personal as an internet auction!… Read Full Review
