I bought a number of these meals for a five day backpack in Knoydart, Scotland. They were excellent for this purpose and, with a bag of rice between two, really did the trick at the end of a long hard day in the hills. I would definitely recommend for outdoor pursuits but don't think I would buy them for use at home. The only downside is the packs are rather heavy for lightweight backpacking. However, you would need to weigh the benefits of going lighter with having a good nutritious meal at the end of the day.
