Warning. Avoid this company if you have any sence at all. I thought I had had a bit of luck. got my docs by email and had paid foir basic breakdown with smart assist, tho never heard of. Got cover for europe driving and full home start policy. On reading some of these reviews I was woried. On checking it was clear that someone had cut my cars value and miles I did per year. I wonder if my policy is still valid? Hung on phone for 1/2 hr and got cut off. Contacterd bbc watchdog and an investigator was interested. Hope they will investigate. Insurance ombudsman said I should write but dont want to let them riggle out of it. Now gonna cancel and pursue these fools.
DODGY DODGY and very poor phone service. Any similar experienses?

I insured online with this company on a fully comp basis and paid my deposit, being automatically that documents would arrive in the post, they did not. I contacted the company to ask if the direct debit had been set up correctly as I had received no email confimation, I was told that it had and that documents would arrive in the post for my signature, they did not. Dont bother with this company,

Withdrew money from my bank account 5 months into the policy for no reason at all. Only noticed when i checked a bank statement for something else. Have reported to bank and insurance company. First central are Thieves - AVOID.- Read Guest's review (39 words)

i took out insurance with first central as they gave me the cheapest quote saving me about 100 pound, everything was fine until someone crashed into us, since then they have lost the car, lost all the documents i had sent to them, lost my tax disc the salvage company had sent them, denied having phone conversations with me, told us we would recieve 2000pound as the car was written off then decided we weren't gettin any of the money back as apparently we had filled in the insurance details wrong ...- Read Guest's review (224 words)

Have experienced real problems with this company, when you call up, you can wait around half and hour for them to answer. They collected my car 4 days after the accident and I waited 8 days for my hire car (after paying an additional £25 on the policy for this). No one has contacted me from this company apart from one email, I am constantly calling each day to find out what's happening with my claim. Two weeks later still waiting for their intial offer. I am horrified this company is a disgrace and Tom if your backing this company up on this kind of your obviously not proffesional. I have just phoned this company to change address and they have told me its an additional £900 on top of the £1350 i am already paying is this correct i understood my premiums would go up but this much is a disgrace!!!- Read Guest's review (65 words)

I would advise people to check their policy right now, especially the amount the car is insured for....they can change this without informing you. I valued my car for £3000 but when i checked my emailed policy they changed it to £1000, made mistakes with dates of passing tests etc. Then wanted to charge me extra to make it upto £3000 cover. I would not recommend 1st Central Car Insurance to anyone,I made a few adjustments mid-policy which brought by policy down, on the phone ,first amount was more and then suddenly they were incapable of honouring the price given, they might be cheap but have no customer service skills what so ever and consequently I will not consider them on renewal even if they are cheapest.

I have been with 1st Central since May this year, WHAT A MISTAKE, they take the money out of my bank as and when they please, without notifing me, can never seem to get through to them on the phone or e-mail, they tried taking the money out of my bank 14 days early which i hadn't been paid yet, so they cancelled my insurance policy, without notifing me, in my opinion i would never recommend these to anyone, completely useless company.- Read Guest's review (81 words)

I felt that I had to write to warn others about my experience with 1st Central Insurance.
I took out a car insurance policy with them because I was sold by how much cheaper they were compared with other quotes, however, this turned out to be a big mistake!

I paid for 1st Central Car Insurance online, but needed to make a couple of minor corrections. The phone numbers given did not work (it rang and then cut off, having tried a number of times over two days) and there has been no reply to my email after two days. I would like others to avoid the nightmare I experienced when using 1st Central Insurance's 'services'. Rather than using a reputable company I regrettably chose this company which appeared at the top of a comparison search. They took my money quickly enough as all insurance companies do but when I was unfortunate enough to need to claim for an accident they were worse than useless. 1st Central Car Insurance is nice and cheap...I could do everything on line and they sent me all my documents by e-mail which is a first!
