    Good Points: None

General comments: I bought an Elta player less than one year ago on e-bay. It broke down in July and I had it back in September. I used it a few times and now it is broken again, I can't even take the dvd out of it. Don't buy it

I have just bought an Elta 8892DVDP
Wow! Just have a look at the features!
Plus - really good picture quality, impressive sound options, attractive design, 2-year warranty

*Those of you who want to make it multi-region, follow this link: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks.php?select=Elta+8892

Conclusion: really good value for money

I have an Elta 8892DVDP DVD player and though it's multi region will not play many disc. Also certain discs asks for the password which I never put in the first place. The machine won't except a change in password as you need the original (probably a factory setting but I don't know) There is no helpline number or technical line to contact and my foreign supplier has gone cold on me. So, basically I'm stuck with a pile of rubbish. My advice is don't buy one.

I have very bad exerience with picture quality, especialy in dark scenes. Black level changes every second with lot of compression sqare effects. Tested on Titanic scene 1 and 30. My Dxr3 PC DVD decoder have a lot better picture quality.
I had it 10 minutes and returned back to retailer.

Great player - have to correct the other review though - while Macrovision is supported, it can also be disabled (as well as setting it to certain Country codes and other things) by using the special menu.
Here's how: without a disk inserted, go to setup, press:
Step, Prev, Next. Follow the menu options from there.

This is a solid DVD player, which so far has played all DVDs I have fed it (20+). The picture quality is very good, no problems there. If you are looking for a cheap Codefree DVD solution, then this is definitely it. If you are looking for a good DVD/CD/MP3 solution, look elsewhere, because the Mp3 and Audio CD funtionality isnt perfect. The quality of the music isnt bad, but the first half a second of every song isnt played. Dunno why it does this, if it werent for this small issue, it wou ...
