    Olympus E-100RS IS - Stealth Mini D-SLR < photobytaps >

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else shoots with this work horse camera. It is 24 ounces of pure amazement!

At 15 fps, 10x of stabilized zoom, and nano-second shutter lag, it's the ultimate in coolness and fun!

If Darth Vader had a digicam, this would be it!

Would like to find other fans of this model and who would like to share info, ideas, and examples of their shots.

    Update:
I'm seeking other fans of this model that actually have and shoot with one.

I routinely print 5x7's and 8x10's. I've been shooting raptors, airplanes, concerts, live football games, as well as portraits.

There's more to a camera than output resolution. I can "precapture" five shots before depressing the shutter. While still holding the trigger, I can burst another 15 frames in one second. Isn't that what is important? To get the decisive moment shot?

It has eight years of a loyal -near cult- following. Photography makes me happy. My camera makes it easier. Darth Vader is on a budget and still likes cool things. I haven't had this much fun with a purchase since my 1989 Yamaha V-Max!

Back in 2001, Steve's Digicams posted:

"I don't know how many times I wished that I had a digital camera that could capture an action sequence the way my old motor-drive Nikon 35mm SLR did back in the 70's. Well, there is one available now that can do it, the Olympus E-100 RS is definitely fast! The first time I set it on 15fps and pushed the shutter button I was a believer. Neither Superman or a speeding bullet could outrun the capabilities of this camera to capture it. "
