Albert Camus, The Plague - During the 1940's, the plague descends on the Algerian town of Oran. The novel, seen through the eyes of Dr. Reiux's, is a testament of his patient's reaction to quarantine and ultimately their own mortality. In arguably his finest work, Camus demonstrates his Existentialist philosophy and offers us an allegory of suffering under the Nazi occupation. The Plague reminds us that we all die, but not all of us live. M. Whelan
