Just closed my credit card account 15 minutes after activating it. What baffoon would think that using cookies (which get deleted regularly by any sane user) is a good way of identifying a device. The convenient Tesco bank solution is to send you a text message and then take some further inconvenient steps every single time you want to access your online account. Tried to open a fixed rate bond. Despite being a UK resident all my life, and living at the same address for over 20 years they couldn't "verify" me. Strangely, I've opened bonds with two banks in the last 3 months with no problems. Wasted ages over two phone calls trying to resolve it, completely unhelpful. "Computer says no" attitude. “don't open a joint Tesco current account”

Opened a joint current account in July. Worst mistake we've made in a while. Many 'technical' issues during transfer process, much apologising. Failure of DD setup. “How they stay in business is a mystery”

I have been using a Tesco credit card for many years, using the online service is just wasting time. They require that you use a computer that they recognise. I use a number of devices, PCs, tablets and a smart phone. There is no email address, so you have to use a land line, (that could be expensive) or 'snail mail'. I applied for supplementary card for my spouse on Tesco platinum credit card. This was back in July, Bank wanted copies of passport, utility bills etc certified. They sent originals back and said will be in touch, then nothing heard until I called. Apparently they didn't like my spouse's name on the side of the bill and wanted 101 additional documents. “Current account suffers from poor website”

I opens a Tesco Bank current account to get the 3% interest on first £3000. I already keep my Santander 1-23 account around the £20,0000 limit for their 3% and had some more to save. Having experienced the web site for a few weeks now, I have to say I wouldn't dream of making it my main current account. Overall the web site is very slow indeed at times. “Rubbish website premium call line”

If you like to manage your money on line avoid this website. If you can email them with a problem the address is well hidden. I have been trying to change my password for the last half hour and all I get is a message saying the password must be at least seven letters long and contain numbers and letters, which it does, but it won't accept it. They have a free phone number if you change the 8 to a 3 so 0345....

“TESCO LOANS - LETTERS & FINALISING PAYMENT”

We have always been very happy when shopping at tesco in person, online through their website, as well as the clubcard scheme. So no complaints there. However, after coming into finanical difficulties, after agreeing lower payments on our Tesco loan with Tesco, our opinions have changed. Be warned!! Tesco Bank Current Account may sound good but the application process online is terrible, you cannot use your existing Tesco Bank login if you have a credit card you have to set up another one, unbelievable as soon as I saw that I knew there would be a problem, thats just a joke. If you change the 8 to a 3 then the number in free so 0345. I have an account and once the account was opened I was able to add the account together on my online banking by clicking add product when logged into my credit card

I've been fairly happy with the service provided by the Tesco credit card until I had to deal with their customer services! I had a late payment charge for making payment in what I believe good time, but they say was too early! As the payment was made on the cusp, there being a good 24hr window, as they decided that despite a payment already having been made for the previous month, I obviously wanted to make another. After spending a little time speaking to a women in customer support, it became clear that her understanding of banking or customer support was very very limited. “Rubbish bank of the year!!!”

Applied for a remorgage over the phone. Credit checks, affordability checks and house fit their criteria all checked and fine. Morgage in principle arrives and they take £195, countrywide call to make an appointment to value house, all fine house valued and ticks the box with regard to LTV. What a joke Tesco Bank is. After I had been given some wrong information about interest free credit period on my credit card I closed my 2 accounts with them as a consequence. It all ends here? Oh no...2 month later I get a letter with a late fee. Apparently there was an interest amount outstanding which they had not informed me of and they did not take off by DD as before, apparently because the account is closed. I contacted Tesco for a simple query regarding a replacement card. The service I received was shocking. I spoke with first person who asked security questions and told me I had answered one incorrectly even though I was reading the answer off a card in my hand. Worst online banking site ever. Can never log Into my account. They have just sent me a new security code which it refused when I entered it, said it was my date of birth ( 514677 ) does this sound like any ones date of birth ? ? Very disappointed with tesco on line banking service. Can never log, tells me password are wrong etc, does not recognise the computer. The site is very confusing and fails every time. The only time I have managed to log on and it took me about 30 minutes in the end I had to contact the service centre who were not that helpful. I wholly endorse this post.
I have several bank accounts, and use online banking daily, but Tesco - forget it. Their security is so incredibly tight it forces you to jump through so many hoops, you lose the will to live.. After entering user name, security numbers, password, recognise pictures, they recognise (or not) my computer, then making me change my password, send for a one time code on my phone, finally I get to the last hurdle and it tells me there is something wrong so I must do it all again.

TESCO FIXRED RATE ONE YEAR ISA As of March I had not used this years ISA allowance(2013/14)and having hunted around for a vaguely reasonable interest rate I found Tesco which had the best one year fixed rate I could find. The only limit on the account is that you have to fund it within 30 days of opening to get the rate as advertised. They actually lied about a conversation I had with one of their 'customer service' representatives. The lady on the phone who was taking my complaint was sarcastic and condescending. “Prejudice against elderly!”
