“Rubbish company with no customer service manners”

I called UPVC door company to clarify what time they would be coming out to fit new door to be informed they had no paperwork for me and that I had not ordered a door. The said the would look into the matter and call me back which they did. After several calls from Hillington and Ayr shop they then informed me I had not signed paperwork which was why the order had not been processed to which I informed them I had travelled 30miles to a shop to sign paperwork 2 weeks previous and had... “AVOID! LIKE PLAGUE !!”

it proved to be a disaster from the start: windows with marks, draughts, badly fitted, silicone fillers to cover up the botched work. Door developed faults within a week of fitting, not shutting properly, lock jamming, handle loose, scrapes on glass. By this time i had made the BIG mistake of paying for the work, as we are decent people who trusted them as they are very plausible and the salesman will promise you anything to get your money. We were getting quotes for a new front door and side panel and this co was cheapest by far for like for like door. After reading these reviews were bit worried, however, as we had used them for two previous properties and not had any problems we decided to go ahead. Workman came and was polite and worked hard until job finished and completely cleaned up after he had finished. I had Roofline done by them, hoping to cure the leaks I had I had with the old cast iron gutters but ended up with more leaks than I started with. The soffits and fascia boards were not fitted well and the gutter out of line at bits. The fitter also damaged the roof felt on top of my bay window, and when it rained, the water leaked down between the felt and the gutter. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! As others have said - I would also award this company zero stars if I could! We had a door installed and part of the deal was the companies widely advertised "Ten year warranty" The warranty clearly states that all locks and mechanisms ARE covered for ten years. I just got two new doors fitted with this company (based in Hillington, Glasgow), the man who fitted the doors done an amazing job, left the work area clean. I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever, the doors look amazing, the locks are great. The only reason I went with them was because I knew other people that had used them and were happy with the results. We got a front door fittrd by this company and now the key doies not come out of the lock. spoke with 'John' on the customer service line and he was refusing to honour tyhe 10 year gaurantee saying that it was not a fault of the locking mechanism but must be the key. How he could tell this over the phone i dont know. He then put the phone down on me. Had back and front doors fitted by this company. Very shoddy work, workmanship was shocking I had to write to the newspapers to get this sorted. Still got the photos to prove it. The boss is the rudest man I have ever spoken too. Four years on and the lock broke. £50 call out fee. Boss told me in all his years fitting doors no one had ever broken that part and what was I doing with my door? Guarantee not worth the paper it is written on. Absolutely shocking company, DO NOT USE. My Mum had a door fitted that has stuck since the day it was installed, it now takes a good 10 minutes to open and she has had to get people to come up to let her out because she cant open it at all some days. Call out is £50 even when in warrenty. JOE the manager you speak to about repairs is so unhelpful he must only have a job because he owns the company, said he was "sick of telling people the same thing". two upvc doors fitted in 2007 one really bad at locking and side panels becominng detached from frames not sealed properly either . £960 waste NOW BOTH NEEDING REPLACED absolutely shocking company and even worse products the 10 year guarntee is not worth the paper its wrote on. avoid this bunch of muppets at all cost and save yourself the grief. “Shocking after sales service ”

had a door fitted in my mothers house. After 2 months it wont lock. Called the company and spoke to the worst customer services person I have ever dealt with. Said they would send someone in 10 days. Not much use for an 80 yr old who can`t lock her door, so i`ll now pay the £50 myself to get it fixed. I`m guessing this is their strategy. (read more)

UPVC Door Company are cowboys. They took me to court but I won and I would advise anyone to stand up to them or they will continue their bullyboy tactics

Do not go near this company, we actually had our front door fitted by them some time ago and we were not that happy but decided to give them another chance. My own fault I guess, as they were even worse the second time, (although they have a guy called Colin - Maintenance guy, who is wonderful, if only they were all as nice and willing to help.!) We had faulty glass, broken frames and a door that would not lock. We were told the lock would get fixed in 2 weeks as it was not a priority...! I... (read more)

Is there not any goods news ?.
I know loads of satisfied customers who have bought goods from the upvc company and have recomended them to family and friends.
It seems that people just want to complain and no one seems to want to compliment companys on a good job .

Quite right reviewer., I had a door recently fitted in 2001 and all the staff at customer services were extremely helpful especial a girl called Helen who was very polite and really cared about my job

Well then they must be one of the very few lucky ones to be satisfied with this awful company. At present talking to trading standards and our credit card company to get our money back for botched job! Customer service non-existent, don't respond to calls/emails/recorded delivery letters!! No idea why they are still trading! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

Well lucky them is all I can say - satisfied customers must be few and far between!! We're currently in talks with trading standards and our credit card company trying to get our money back for a botched window and front door! Customer service non-existent...phone calls, emails, recorded delivery letters and still not resolved yet nearly 4 months later. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! I've no idea why they are still trading, having now read some of the complaints about them.

We purchased a new back door from this company and the actual installation was fine. The problem was the glass.
We paid for an expensive full glass panel which looked lovely in the showroom but when fitted was very dirty inside with marks from a roller which had been left owing to it having been put through a wash machine.
The Glass Company who produced the glass agreed it was faulty and it was removed not once but twice and the marks still remained.

I found this review very helpful because...i am in dispute re their workmanship and teir attitude i got a back door fitted its a total mess sealed with silicone on the inside where the i hesitate to use the word fitter had to cut panel it looks as though it has beed chewed not cut and does not fit space he disguised his lack of skill by the afore mentioned silicon. the door swings open its distorted.Hav,nt paid it yet i,ll wait and see if they live up to their advert (not a penny to pay untill i am completely satisfied)Watch this space.

All I can say is DO NOT USE THIS COWBOY COMPANY my door from upvc still leaks despite numerous visits from their so called joiners and they have the cheek to demand a call out fee despite being within the "warranty period" a joke with arrogant management. (read more)

We got the upvc door/window company to fit new windows and a patio door in our house. The windows for upstairs were the wrong ones. Customer service was terrible, we were told thats the ones you signed for , tough . We contacted citizens advice who advised us what to say. Contacted the upvc window company again , ended up getting money off the bill and told to get someone else to fit new windows. Once the new windows had been fitted by the other company i was told to contact the upvc company... (read more)

After sales service at the UPVc Door Company is atrocious and if I could give a minus score for the service I have received and am still receiving, I would.
There was rendering that needed repairing after the windows were fitted in November and this is still outstanding. I have also written 4 letters to company and requested written reply . I have not had one letter back.

after reading your review, i can only presume that the owner wrote this review, WHICH WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME. My mother in law bought a door from ayr and had nothing but problems: shoddy workmanship, delayed fitting dates, cheap products, handle and letterbox corrodes after 6 months, customer service non -existant, unless you count the aggressive, take it or leave it attitude on telephone. Managers even more aggressive - 1 actually swore down the phone! The guarantee is worthless, they just use the 10year promise to sound genuine.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! there are far better companies with good reputation, who care about customers- upvc only want your money - after they get it - you dont exist!
